A thread for PS3 owners Here

Hello Goaty ♥

Recommended Posts

Link please.

I don't believe Valve have slammed products they're going to make some revenue from.

Use the power of the internet. I guess as I posted the info the onus is on me to provide the link but I hate searching the internet. All I'd find was a picture of a dalmation having sex with a nun. Surprised you people can't remember, though it was a while back.

Even by your standards that's lame. If someone slagged of the 360 saying that they couldn't be bothered to find any proof you'd be foaming at the mouth.

The onus is on you to prove you didn't make it up in a bout of over excited fanboyism.

fanboyism for which platform? Take your pick, I own a Wii, 360, PS3 or a high end PC. I'm guessing it's not Sony. I'd like it to be PC this time, PC snobs are the best and elitist and that's what I've played Orange Box on.

I want it because I want to play HL2, I've not got my new PC yet and I own a PS3. Desperation would be me buying Sega Rally or Skate or some other rubbish I'm not interested in.

not sure if that was said in jest, but sega rally is a good game by anyones standards and Skate is absolutely exceptional.

Yeah, I'm not just not interested in them at present. HL2 does interest me, yes, even on PS3, which by rights should make it play like Army Men: Sarge's Heroes 2.

The link everyone is looking for is probably Gabe Newell hates PS3, taken from an EDGE interview.

Valve Software boss Gabe Newell has slagged off PS3 calling it "a waste of everybody's time" in a latest attack on the console.

"Investing in the Cell, investing in the SPE gives you no long-term benefits. There's nothing there that you're going to apply to anything else. You're not going to gain anything except a hatred of the architecture they've created", Newell told Edge magazine.

"I don't think they're going to make money off their box. I don't think it's a good solution."

It's not the first time Newell has slammed PS3. Earlier in the year he called it "a total disaster on so many levels... I think it's really clear that Sony lost track of what customers and what developers wanted".

"I'd say, even at this late date, they should just cancel it and do a do over", he said in January.

Despite his negative reactions to PS3, Newell says that he thinks PS3 owners who buy The Orange Box are going to be happy with their game experience and that EA - which is handling the PS3 version - will make it a good product.

"But I think it's harder to get it to the same standard as the 360 and PC versions", Newell said.

Maybe...

THIS PLANET more like.

As well as being a rather seedy middle-aged man (or at least has done at meets, I'm told), he reminds me of the kids in the playground during the SNES v MD war.

God I'm half as boring as you and Soong. Christ most PS3 owners brand anybody who has anything slightly negative to say about the PS3 as some kind of a fanboy. This forum is two steps away from being Gamefaqs.

It's also nice to be judged by someone who's never met me.

:)

You've got to be fucking kidding.

Well ok that's perhaps a little bit too far as 360 and Wii owners seem more than happy to discuss the faults of their consoles. If only the PS3 owners would open up a little, take a little light ribbing. I guess it's just too soon.

I'm one year younger than you grandad. I think there's only one thing for it, Soong I challenge you to a WarHawk duel. If I win I will change my avatar to Phil Harrison and spread nothing but glorious news of Sony's advance. I'd be the Goebbels to your Hitler and we can march across Europe hand in hand.

I don't think anyone should be opening up to nonsense like this:

I can't believe people are still wanting to play Orange box on their PS3 considering Valve have slammed the port in the past and it's never been shown to the press despite being out (allegedly) in two weeks. I guess people are really desperate to play something on that box they bought.

If you said something similarly ridiculous regarding any other format, you'd get similarly (and rightly) defensive reactions. It's nothing to do with your continued (and wrong) assertion that PS3 owners are inherently more defensive, but everything to do with your continued baiting. As a non-PS3 owner, it's even plainly obvious to me that you're being very, very silly.

Although with such golden nuggets as this:

Use the power of the internet. I guess as I posted the info the onus is on me to provide the link but I hate searching the internet. All I'd find was a picture of a dalmation having sex with a nun. Surprised you people can't remember, though it was a while back.

... I can only assume you were just having a big ol' laugh.

Plenty of people in this thread have been negative about the PS3. No one relishes it like you though trying to get a reaction.

And no, I 've never met you. I'm just going on first-hand accounts of how sleazy and unpleasant you are in real life.

The majority of us freely admit to the machine's flaws, which rather decreases the need for people like you running about making other ones up.

I've heard he's rather more sleazy around women. But again, I'm only going on post-meet gossip.

around women? possibly he was letching all over one of his mates, he had far too much to drink and he thought he was gods gift, he kept pretending to be a gayer and dry humping his poor friend who looked rather ashamed to be with him, in the end the party/meet was cancelled early because of his antics. Can you out this friend? Were they female?

Are we really trying to link "being sleazy at women according to second hand gossip" with "PS3 hate"?

it was the guy who gave him a lift think he was called Toadey?

either way he was all over him, I wouldnt care but I had made a real effort and he didnt even give me a second look, like I said before TWAT.
