A thread for PS3 owners Here

Hello Goaty ♥

Recommended Posts

Friday week is payday, and I shall be splurging on a 360. Who can recommend a good bundle deal? Oddly, I'm not that bothered about MGS4, I can take it or leave it. GTA4 is a must though, and I like the look of uncharted, burnout paradise, gt5 prologue etc.

Freudian slip, non?

A 360??? You have a lot of nerve coming in here and telling us that you're buying a 360! :o

(I recommend EDF 2017 for your 360, btw )

I guess you mean PS3, not 360? If you haven't played it before, I'd recommend Call of Duty 4 which is one of the best games you can get at the minute, the single player is fine, but the multiplayer will last for ages. Uncharted and Oblivion are two other good games you can get for the PS3 that have been out for a while and will probably be cheap to pick up.

Congratulations to spacehost, harry, mr gerbik, kinketsu and puck for spotting the deliverate mistake. There is a large, exciting prize on it's way to each and every one of you as we speak*.

PS3 was of course what I intended to write, so apologies for that. Anybody seen any particularly bargainous bundles lately?

So the EU PSN gets a demo of DBZ and, according to the PlayStation Blog anyway, the US Store gets a new PSN game to download (Novastrike)? Good work, SCEE - it's good to know you're back on top of getting it all wrong.

And where the cock is WipEout HD? And where are the Dualshock 3s?

Cake?

Touché.

I own Cod4/Oblivion on the PC... think I might just get the GTA4 bundle and scrounge some cheap titles on ebay, unless anyone has seen a better bundle? I've heard of a Zavvi deal, £335 for any game and any bluray, or something similar?

Soon, soon.

I thought Commando 3 was due out today, seeing as it hits XBLA next Wednesday. If the US get it in their update today, I'm going to punch someone on the nose.

I imported and I REGRET NOTHING! It was £30 which is the high street price of the Sixaxis anyway. I'm expecting DS3s to be even more expensive over here. I have a question though - have the DS3 thumbsticks been recalibrated from the Sixaxis model? I was playing Half Life 2 yesterday and I switched models because the pad I was using was low on batteries and the control felt slightly different. Am I just going mad?

Also: Lovely PS3 owners, can you please recommend me a bluetooth headset to use for online gaming? Thanks!

I sold my 60gb PS3 back at Xmas. Mostly because there was bugger all to play and I was offered close to £500 for it! However with the release of MGS 4 due any day now I'm really tempted to pick another up. Will my username account thingy still be useable? Can I check it online anywhere like with Xbox Live?

Edit. I really need to stop reading what velos posts. The guy hasnt recommended a duff game yet and I dont think my bank balance can take much more of this :o

Dude, I think I have a new Jabra bluetooth headset (the one that comes with warhawk) that I never used but it's missing the charging USB cable (about £3 from ebay). You can have that for free if I can find it- I'm sure it's here somewhere

So I'm about to join the PS3 club, having a 40GB on its way to me at the moment.

Regarding hardrives and that, is anyone beginning to get low on space? Noticed Bourne is a 5 GB install, and MG4 is around 4GB also. In the 40 GB model, is all of that available - or is some lost in formatting? Thinking about installing a larger drive now instead of later, but wondering if its worth it, it will only be game data I intend to install, as I have a seperate USB harddrive for Divx mp3's etc.

I don't have a problem with space but then again I've got a 60gig. I have a lot of my games installed and about 10 demos, a load of music, a couple of movies and a few pictures and I usually have just about 24gigs free so I can see how on a 40 gig things could get tight, but if you are only doing installs and demos, you should be alright on a 40gig.

And I don't think all of the 40gigs are available, I could be wrong but I think the operating system stuff takes up a couple of gigs.

In my humble opinion FFXII looks gash on PS3

I think your TV set-up's up the piddle mate, I have FFXII running upscaled at 1080i and it looks x100 better than it does on a cathode-ray telly.

Same goes for Okami, Yakuza etc. Not sure why some people are getting weird results?? What PS3's have you got? I'm using a 100% compatible US launch 60GB, but it would be a bit weird if BC varied between models.

When I first played FFXII it looked like shit, but this was corrected with an update yonks ago and it's been stunning ever since.
