So, Gamestation and GAME are sticking to their store policy, you are one of the only people in the UK incapable of ordering from Amazon, and Blockbuster obviously haven't updated their in store barcode book, and you'll have to wait a couple of days. Rather than getting stuff off your chest why don't you go and buy from one of the many 1000s of retail outlets you haven't tried? Or do you just like getting angry?

Man, I hate getting angry about this stuff! I dunno about store policy, but it doesn't seem particularly conducive to making sales. Dunno what's going on with Amazon, but I'm not sure how the customer service guy hanging up on me can be brushed off. The Blockbuster excuse was just lol-worthy, but at least it saved me a trip as I spoke to them on the phone.

Going to try HMV next, as they have some reasonable deals. I bet as soon as I do that, Amazon somehow sort all their problems out and dispatch my order...

HMV has the GT5 bundle for 299 and you can probably just take the game to blockbuster if you don't want it and trade it in towards mgs4 since they are selling it the cheapest at £35

I couldn't see that bundle, but they did have PS3 + GH3 + Singstar (and guitars and mics) for £350, which is pretty damn good. One question: does the GH3 guitar work on Rock Band? If so, I'll keep GH3. If not, I'll flog it.

Its doesnt.

That was what the whole "feud" between EA/Harmonix - Activision was about.

Harmonix claim to have a patch working/in the works but Activision want them to pay up to let them release it.

Could someone please recommend a router which has a good wireless range, 4 ethernet ports + is reliable for ps3 online please. My router at the mo seems to be fine for everything except everybodys golf, but no one else has a problem with it so I can only hope a new router will sort my issues.

You can try enabling UPNP on your PS3 and router, or if that doesn't help, give your PS3 a fixed IP address then specify that address as a "DMZ Host" on your router.

COD4 and the PSN Shop work much quicker for me after I took the "DMZ Host" option.

Tell me about it! Trying to actually buy a PS3 has been easily the most frustrating and time-consuming retail experience I think I've ever had. It's as if shops don't really want to sell £350 worth of stuff.

Gamestation: won't match their online offer in-store. No sale.

Game: won't let me redeem my reward points without me having the reward card with me, and have somehow managed to split my reward points over two cards anyway. No sale.

Blockbuster: had both a PS3 and MGS4 in stock, but were unable to sell them as a bundle (despite advertising "PS3 + any game for £320") because they didn't have a barcode for that particular combination. No sale.

Amazon: credit card problems for some reason, despite all the numbers being correct. Customer service guy hung up on me after not being able to hear me recite my card number over the phone, and I'm now unable to either re-submit my credit card details online or cancel the order and start again.

Sorry, that's all very boring, but I had to get it off my chest. Does any shop want to sell me a PS3 please?

I think amazon have had some issues lately. Me old mum let me put it on her card (aw) and it bounced five or six times before strangely working as of earlier today. PS3 arrives tomorrow :)

Well if you mean ones that aren't by like Capcom or Namco or whatever then, there are a few. Ryu Ga Gotoku Kenzan is already out there a couple of months and looks good. I thought the demo of the new Siren game was interesting. Valkyria Chronicles looked interesting for tactical RPG fans, with those neat sketch/watercolour graphics. Way of the Samurai 3 is coming out later this year. The cartoon style cute fighter Battle Fantasia came out last month, and another fighter from the same developers (Guilty Gear guys I think) is coming out later this year. Boku no Natsu Yasumi 3 came out about a year ago and is a 'weird' game, if by that you mean the type they won't bring over.

Given that they didn't release the first 2 here, I'd be amazed if they do. Does yasumi translate as vacation or something like that? I'm assuming here that it translates as My Summer Vacation.

So i signed up for one of these "dodgy" referral things and got 10 people to do the same and I should be getting a PS3 delivered at the end of this month!

What's the best games to get for it? MGS4 is top of my list, any other good PS3 exclusives to get?

Also, in regards to HDMI cables, is there a good affordable one to get, or should I just go for the cheapest?

.::: Cheapest. HDMI is a standard a manufacturer need to adhere to so it'll always be good enough for all-round usage. Just be sure it has the official logo on the packaging somewhere.

Is there a noticeable difference between VGA and HDMI?

My old Xbox 360 Core doesn't have HMDI :P

.::: There is a difference with HDMI being sharper. But tbh, I didn't notice it until I actually started comparing directly.

Just got a new PS3 yesterday,plugged it in via hdmi.

The picture is fine but the sound is a bit off.The base end sounds muffled.

Plugged in a component lead and the sound is fine.

Do you need a hdmi 1.3 as the one I had was 1.2 or is the hdmi socket borked on my tv?
