They're changing quite a few of the game mechanics in readyness for the expansion pack thats out in January. The main things are the talent trees and honour system.

You will have the level 70 talent trees now so have a 41 point talent in each tree that you can spec to this won;t make much difference to you at the moment however.

The honour system has been changed basically to make winning matches more desireable so people don't do battlegrounds just for the kills. Also the ranks have been abolished as before most of the best PvP gear was ony available to those players who player 18hours a day 7 days a week.

Yeah rank will be calculated but you won't be able to buy any of the items associated with it.

As above, you could make blood guard this week but wouldn't be able to buy the blood guard stuff. Not that you need it.

Well, I don't think that is particularly true.

As a Shaman you can now Dual Wield - which is quite a significant change, or get Earth Shield - which is significant too.

Sure when you get another 10 talent points the trees will be that much better and more powerful, but they certainly will change things for quite a few people.

After the patch, it's purely a cosmetic thing as ranks will mean nothing come next Wednesday. However you still have to salute me.

I was under the immpresion that you could display any rank up to your highest achieved? Not that it matters much to me I actually like Blood Guard, though I won't be displaying it. I'd hate to be stuck on 'Grunt' though.

Yeah, just read the full notes so I guess I can still make Blood Guard if I go all out this week (I'm about 30% into Stone Guard at the moment). Fuck farming, I want that rank!

Do we assume that all the (Pvp rank) old gear will still be around but just available to you in a different way now (tokens etc)? Or will there be whole new gear? Can it be guesstimated how many games you'd need to win to get bits of kit?

What about gear bought from the AV/AB/WSG suppliers? Will that change? Just that I have a new char I want to get to friendly with both WSG and AB before the end of the weekend but want to be sure I'm not wasting my time as it will be so much easier in a few days more.

Are the black war mounts still tied to faction rep? I've still got about 18k to go before I can ride a black war wolf if so and that will make me cry as I need runecloth for levelling up bandages and flogging Mooncloth Bags to keep me in the meagre style to which I've become accustomed.

I've not seen anything about that. I'd be surprised if it's the case to be honest...

Champion Khaz has a nice ring to it. As does Knight Kház, a rather fitting title for a Paladin.

Remember to get 20 of each token before the patch guys, saves some time. Gonna do the same as Stiff methinks, resto and pvp like mad. Dunno what exact talent spec to go yet though.
