Patch 2.0 is coming

I've been reading up on the Mage forums. Ignites no longer roll or stack, and apparently the debuff is refreshed every time you crit. So if you immediately crit a Scorch after Pyroblast, the Scorch ignite will override Pyroblast.

And Counterspell is now on a global cooldown, meaning we're shafted even further against other casters.

It's not a good day for PvP Mages. I was really excited about going 0/51/0, but without rolling Ignites there's no point.

I read about this. Improved CS gives you 4 seconds silence, that leaves you with 2.5 seconds to act before they can cast again. Not even enough time for a fireball.

Improved CS is a total waste now imo. And as for the ignite nerf....

Hunters are a lot more powerful in the patch.

Fun to fight against but a lot more powerful especially against mages.

At least their huge red pets hit me enough that they proc Blazing Speed virtually every time they come for me. No longer is kitty an inescapable, fire-and-forget source of magedeath. I kited an enraged pet from Farm to just below the LM in AB last night, then the boost wore off it and I went to sheep it, but I forgot I needed to hold a modifier key for my poly macro to work (gfsgfdtafdtwfd) so it ate me. Next time round I just kited the red thing away from LM flag while my friends killed the hunter, lolz.

That's because oRA2 doesn't have unit frames - it's just a raid assist thingy, doesn't have Unit Frames, but deals with ready checks and MT lists and all that gubbins.

Get sRaidFrames for unit frames, that's working.

The thing about Ace addons is that they are minimalist - the idea is that you install only what you need. Means people who don't need all the raid groups don't have to worry about clunking up their memory with them needlessly

I cant say this enough after last nights bunch of AV games. Resto is now the dogs bollocks for AV, and more than likely the other BG's as well, at least untill you have the gear to go proper Enhancement (I'm talking mostly HWL gear here). I chose this spec : Earth Shield ftw!

No Mana Tide or the mana totem enhancing talents, though I hardly notice I havent got them tbh. I drink when I want mana, and I've managed fine without Tide in AV, so I cant see why I'd want it in any the other BG's. I could drop the Totem range talent, and Ancestral Knowledge to get them though if I so wish, but I like that my totems can reach further, and that I have a bit more mana to play with. I can still kill people too (mainly as the stamina changes arent in yet) thanks to Natures Blessing and my ridiculous Int stat. Imba!

:D Earth Shield is incredible. I'm not exactly in uber gear, but I had 4 people battering me and I could easily stay alive by spamming uninterruptable heals on myself until others came down and killed them all.

That's almost the exact same spec I have, but with restorative totems instead of nature's guardian (which is rubbish). Also, healing stream totem is affected by trinkets and the like. It ticks for loads now.

Funny, Breaksmith said the exact opposite - he thought it looked really cool.

Alask - you're right, but it will still be excellent. Shaman will be purging it off each other a lot I guess especially. However, by that time I'll be a damage dealing DW monster. RAWR! Try purging my weapons out of my hands!

I mean - in a one on one situation or if the numbers are on your side - I'll blatantly purge all the time. In a 4 on 4 quick skirmish, its harder to afford that 1.5sec GCD when it could mean you or your Warrior dying. So it will get purged, and probably all the time at first, but eventually it'll just be as much as anything else gets purged, which is 'sometimes'.

Sithlord, out of interest, which mod is those buff bars please?

Regarding Earth Shield, will it stack?

I think it takes into account +healing, but would say 2 Shaman casting it on a tank combine the +heal total or just that of the newest caster?

Doesn't stack no. Does take into account +healing.

Does crit.

My only real issue with the current UI nerfs is before Bartender2 had a pagemod thing that would change the page on your main action bar based on whether you had a hostile target or friendly target.

It meant that my 1-0 - and = buttons would change on the fly to offensive or healing spells. I'm not a 'clicker' for actions so this is really quite difficult to get to grips with, especially in battlegrounds where you're using everything rather than just spamming heals only.

Hmm. I guess I don't really use 6-0 and it's only 5 heal buttons I use so that's one way of changing things. I hate having to unlearn habits and learn new ones.

Sith - could you make your groups any bigger, it's just I can see a bit of the world around you.

Easy for a non-healer to say :(

Earth Shield DOES look cool - it's just I'm less keen on the disorientation :(

It's not updated for 2.0 yet but PerfectRaid is just such a fucking excellent raid/groups thingy...

I need them like that for healing!

Don't know if I'll bother waiting for PerfectRaid to be updated, to be honest. Pre-patch I would have said exactly the same, but I started using Grid last night.

Apart from some minor issues with two of our hunters having very similar names (which appeared in Grid's limited display space as Gorg and Gorg respectively), and me occasionally forgetting how I'd set up Clique for buffing and decursing, it seemed very handy and took up far less screen space than any other raidframes addon I've tried. I just need to customise it a bit so it doesn't tell me about stuff I can't do anything about, I think, and then I'm set.

(Also, if anyone can make it tell me when someone's missing AI/AB that would be amazingly useful. I kinda got used to clicking onto each mana-user after wipes last night to see what their buffs were, but it wasn't exactly time-efficient.)

nature's guardian (which is rubbish)

Undecided on this, as I get healed by it a lot, but its not a fantastic amount healed. I think its more of a PvE talent than PvP due to the threat reduction part of it.

It was silly last night in AB when the same poor rogue got killed a million times trying to get me, and he just couldnt do enough damage to me to get my hp down before he himself got ganked. The others on TS thought it was hilarious, as I was practically unkillable. A load of us went to the Stables and everyone else got killed except me who managed to leg it, and stay alive to get to the Blacksmith :(

Nature's Guardian is expensive for what it is, and it only works in specific situations. You aren't going to be happy sitting at 1400/1500hp to wait for a proc and of course there are so many big nukes these days that it'll often not get the chance to proc. On top of that it's only 50/50 whether it goes off.

As for PvE - yes situationally I can see it being alright, but the same thing applies. Plus in PvE resto totems will be more useful anyway.

Finally - for the expac, at 70, the same will apply. Bigger heals yeah, but everything is relative and it's likely you won't want to be sitting there on 3200hp when big Ogre King Hitalot smacks you for 4k.

I just can't get over how much fun it is healing now. Being hard to kill=the wicked.

I like PRaid as it's mostly info and buff 'needs' that I want - I'm not a raid healer (thankfully)

Grid - whilst clever - is just throwing TONNES of info at me and I'm lost tbh...

Given that Perfectraid is written by the same person who does Clique - I think it'll be my choice once she's got an 2.0 version out there (within the week apparently)

I'm using OzRaid at the moment. It displays totally vertically, like Perfect Raid, if you want it to, or you can have different windows with set groups or different people - very customisable, and quite pretty too. I'll try and get a screenie. I'm using it with Clique for decursing/depoisoning and I'm feeling MUCH happier about the decursive nerf. My only complaint is that OzRaid sometimes feels, hm, a bit laggy. I will go back to Perfect Raid when it comes back, definitely. It just did everything so flawlessly - showing who was low mana, showing who had an innervate on them, curse, poison, so obvious.. *daydreams*

Anyway.

I've been thinking about this, and wonder if it is something that will be forever broken, due to the changes in the patch. We know that many things are forbidden in combat now and for a bar to change its settings depending on target probably means you need to be in combat. Yes, it could work out of combat, if you were targetting an evil mob just hovering over your dreamfoil, but it'd be a bit pointless - mostly, you'd be swapping between healing someone and targetting that annoying gnome trying to kill you, which it wouldn't be able to adjust to..

On the lag front - if you've been PvPing since the patch, you'll have noticed that EVERYTHING is laggy :(

On the 'bar switching' - don't see that can't be done. The 'nerf' is to targetting players and casting spells - changing buttons around shouldn't be an issue...
