Can't believe I completely forgot about Logan too, but I am a bit of a numpty though.

Nadia can't be the dirty traitor surely, that'd be too obvious, we need crazy plot twists. I was thinking maybe it's really Mylo and letting Nadia use his login detail stuff was just a ploy to set her up.

Yeah its a bit odd how milo is suddenly back. Can't see him as a bad guy though.

It could only really be milo, morris or 'bauer volume 2' guy. Or we could see nadia being cleared and then finding out at the end it really was her. Then we will have ourselves a 'Nina Volume 2' girl.

Yikes, totally forgot about logan 'cliffhanger' :(
Holy crap I forget about that.

I told you nobody cared about him.

I was pretty sure Milo's login was going to enter into the mole plot, especially when they gave us a pointed reminder of it at the start. Still time, I suppose - if he'd already set up Nadia as the patsy it would explain why he went to such lengths to keep her at the right security level, though giving her his pass seems like an odd way to go about it. Maybe the new Curtis will find out Milo's to blame but everyone will think he's waging a personal vendetta. If that's the case they'll probably spend much of the next hour making the new guy look like a vindictive bastard and sketching in his unwholesome career record.

I reckon the Nadia thing is either gonna be someone we haven't really seen much of or Nina v2. I thought it might be Milo but he seems too protective of her and too much of a bitch to do something like that and the new guy was in the field and doesn't look like he's had much access to their computers.

I'm not the only one who reckons Audrey is still alive, am I? It's all a big cover up for something or other I reckon. No idea what though.

Nadia could be Nina v2, but it seems a bit obvious at the moment. Also she has no personal relationship with Jack so it wouldn't be quite as good. Still, the more moles the better! Maybe Audrey is a baddie now and faked her own death so she can mastermind some evil plot without being bothered by Jack.

I thought about that but I guess they just killed her off cause the actress couldn't come back to the show, isn't she part of another show now?

Well there is still no news on the condition of ex Pres Logan this week...

Having the autistic fella was a bit meh..although i suppose he was easier to coerce into helping Jack

Mike Doyle comes across as a fella that should not be crossed, i for one hope he's in it for the rest of the series, after all the villians know who Jack Bauer is, whilst Doyle has no history with Fayed or Gredenko (so far)

V-P Daniels is certainly a determined fella though

I know, seemed a bit odd to me... This season certainly seems very fragmented and messy, with many major characters brought into the plot only to disappear magically after a handful of episodes.

Loving the whole Mike Doyle thing also though... A more evil, brutal Jack. And more mysterious, as you said. Good to have another field agent to almost rival Chase from season 3. :)

"When will ze bomb be ready?"

"Within ze hour!"

"When will your plane be here?"

"Within the hour!"

"We don't have long left. WHERE IS THAT TEAM?"

"They're in transit, 30 minutes at least, maybe an hour!"

EVERYTHING IS WITHIN A FUCKING HOUR.

Six seasons of it is really starting to piss me off.

This hacker is :( .

I think this is easily the worst season of 24 so far. The threat of nukes feels somehow totally unthreatening. You know how even numbered Star Trek movies are the best ones? 24 is like that, except it's the odd numbered seasons that are great.

This is true. My flatmate has started watching season 1 and the difference in quality is absolutely staggering. It's the little things, like Jack not being a fucking superhuman for one and him falling asleep when he sits down. Great stuff. Also the fact they don't resort to torture at the drop of a hat.

There's even a bit in episode 9 or 10 of season one where Jack says "You don't want to mess with me. I've killed two people since midnight." He kills at least two people an episode in the later seasons.

I've given up on 6 altogether but really enjoyed season 5. Unfortunately, season one is even showing that up for the ridiculous pantomime it is.

Its hard to say how good this season is compared to others as its not near the end yet. Its certainly better then the last half of season 4. I'm starting to get bored with V.P Daniels, his looks and acting are perfect for 24 but the writers are making him sound like a repeating record. We need to see another side to him.

As for specifics on the episode,

Ha I was expecting the autistic guy plot to be much deeper as it was too weird with Jack being super over the top nice to him. As if to point out to us how such a nice innocent guy he is. Then at the end we find out he isn't autistic at all but then that would of been cliche. Can't win. Its just weird, doubt we will see them charactersever again.

Also I sort of liked the milo/nadia moment. Could they be the new tony/michelle?

"Rain Man like hacking?"

"Yeah."

Last night's ep was very predictable but fun enough. After being full of praise earlier in the season for the creators not trying to shoehorn a massive gun battle into every episode like they did in Season 5, I'm starting to miss them. Not enough action this year.

Am I the only one who thinks Season 2 is worse than 4? I can see 4 was pretty poor in most respects, but it at least had a lot of enjoyable action sequences which made it mildy entertaining fun if you detached yourself from any expectations or hype. 2, for me, just had next to nothing going for it. The first half was ok, and the whole thing with Mason infected I enjoyed and found fairly involving, but after that the season just fell to pieces.

Personally i'm finding 6 a bit better than 4 so far, but still worse than 3,1 and 5 (my favourites in that order). So a bit meh to be honest.

I'm really hoping they mix things up a bit for Season 7 and place Jack in China on a journey for vengence against those responsible for his imprisonment and Audrey's death, possibly with a CTU side-plot or maybe them being involved in stopping Jack. The fact every season has taken place almost entirely in Los Angeles, and that every threat, location and problem arises within a few miles radius of CTU is really starting to grate. The terrorist plots are getting boring beyond belief - I know most of the show revolves around CTU, but surely there can be more variety than we've seen so far? Can't really see this happening though unfortunately, they'll probably just introduce yet another cliched biological threat to LA next season :)

Despite all this i'm still enjoying it though, easily the best drama doing the rounds, though 24's recent decline in quality means Prison Break is coming close. :)

Agreed, a change of setting has severely restricted the variety they can use in their story. Fox have also shied away from the China as enemies thing for too long, we've had the Russians, Muslims, more muslims, russians and muslims, and the brits as bad guys. So far the only intrusion we've seen chinese related is the unarmed, no-one's allowed to kill consulate raid.

  • 2 weeks later...

Mental twist at the end of the new episode.

Seemed totally out of character. We were supposed to believe that Wayne could give the order to stop the nuclear strike after coming out of his coma, and then in the space of an hour totally reverse his stance on the premise that he was just kidding around earlier on, in order to retain his Presidency? Surely the cabinet would think, "Hang on a moment, is this guy all there?" At least with the VP, they knew where they stood. Of course, it's probably'll end up being something to do with being pumped full of adrenaline, but still... seemed silly.
