I was going to post RATM in Mexico.

Does anyone remember that GnR concert back in 88 or 89, small venue when Appetite was released? (Edit: Ritz?)

The Foo's in Canada, I think it was Toronto.

AC/DC in Donington, I think it was Donington.

Edit: Looking for links.

^I wasn't really bothered about Bob Dylan until I saw "No Direction Home" on BBC4 (watched it out of boredom - didn't know much about him but tried it out anyway) and this clip kicked me in the balls and screamed in my ear "I'M THE FUCKING MAN".

And this is just great but I don't think it was on that documentary.

sunn o))) at Frieze this October.

Devastating. Good enough to change your perspective on what music is and what it can do and be. Every other live performance I've experienced was just about rendered null and void by this.

Are we supposed to have links to video? ;)

Yeah, love the Battle of Mexico City DVD by RATM. Absolutely awesome. Looks like, literally, the best gig ever.

I remember watching on MTV a few years back some show put on by JT, NERD and that bloke from Black Eyed Peas. Then, on one song, Dizzee Rascal came from nowhere and just started killing them all. I could only find a small piece of it on youtube but it was great at the time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJJrccf2D4w

And the best thing I've ever seen on Jolls Holand was At The Drive In. Absolute chaos. :(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZagV69HujUY Shame they abandoned ATDI to form the Mars Volta.

Neither are the close to the greatest performances ever but quite a few probably won't have seen them so I just thought I'd give them a mention.

I remember watching that knowing I was going to see them again the week after, made me properly giddily excited. My Gatecrasher kid flatmate of the time was totally bemused though.

I can't say I'm a fan of the 'spazzing out' style live performance but that ATDI song is really good, I've just grabbed the album version.

RATM are amazing, everything is so tight. The Battle of Mexico City is a great dvd. Much as I'd have liked to have seen them play live, I'm not sure I could handle a whole gig. Their music just makes me want to give 110% whilst jumping about like a madman.

There used to be a 14 min version clip of the early P-Funk crew on youtube but now only this tiny segment can be found.

It was recorded for a show called 'Say Brother' and is the earliest known footage of the crew.

One day somebody will put up the whole thing again - I must've watched it about 15 times and was preparing to record the audio when I discovered the horror of its removal.

I saw them at at two Reading Festivals. Indeed there were no ballads to rest during!

Looking around youtube its hard to find any better crowd responses than those for RATM.

Witness some unknown swedish fest

What a fucking row. ;)

I like At The Drive In, but that does sound fucking terrible, their more bothered with leaping around than playing their instruments

great post death metal, now melodic dutch rock band

and just found this, this might have been the same night i saw them with opeth \m/

I've been having a mini RATM re-lovein thanks to this thread :) Amazing stuff.

I love Hendrix at Woodstock, the whole thing is on Google video but I especially love Voodoo Child

So messy (in a good way)!

Bjork doing Jóga on Jools is probably my fave ever performance but it doesn't seem to be online...So Broken with Spanish guitarists is pretty amazing too though
