Skins on E4

I can't stand shit like this, Hollyoaks, etc. It just serves to make naive young people feel grossy inadequate because they're not high off their tits on coke with their cock in some gorgeous vadge 24/7, or ready to throw caution to the wind to achieve such a lifestyle. What makes it worse is, you can't even wank to it because they never actually get their tits out. Bring back the shows of yore, where the naughtiest thing kids would do was to go a bit too close to some train tracks, or an abandoned quarry.

Newsflash: If you didn't like Skins 1/2 you're obviously not going to like this.

Skins series 2 especially, though, was one of my favourite ever TV serieses. It's just superb.

This S3E1 was a bit shite, for sure. But we'll just have to see how the characters develop. I'll give it a couple more weeks at least.

And as usual, the soundtrack was fucking amazing.

Series 2, episode 6.

This has been a public service announcement from the official league of UK perverts.

The Inbetweeners is awesome!

Christ, it's bloody awful.

'Here's a load of situations that wouldn't actually happen, but they're funny because.. woah, did he just say 'BUMDER'?'

Absolute tosh. It has to be believable to be funny. Shows like Peep Show, One Foot in the Grave and Fawlty Towers were and are masters at dragging their leads into painful situations in a believable way. The Inbetweeners was just incredibly lazy writing, a series of "what crazy situation can we put these guys in for no utter reason this week?"

Believable to be funny?

League of Gentleman, Brass Eye(ok maybe believable), Peep Show. Big Train. To name a very small few.

What nonsense.

This should be in an inbetweeners thread, but...

I love the Inbetweeners, it's over the top, but I think in such a way that it's not that far from removed from real life. The first series apart is pure brilliance, even the slightly flat first episode is good.

I hope the second series can come somewhere close to my expectations.

I'm way older than their target audience, but I really liked the first series (haven't the second yet but will get round to it).

In the first episode of season one you knew that

Sid fancied Michelle, who loved Tony, who didn't care much about anyone

. I felt old just watching it but they were at least engaging characters and I ended up watching almost half the series in one sitting. You could even believe in the adults with some slight suspension of disbelief.

This was dreadful though. I can't believe it was written by Bryan Ellsey. I know all the other writers are 21 or under, but it was the same for the first season and it managed not to insult your intelligence. This felt like it was cobbled together by the link writers for T4.

This show is FUCKING ABYSMAL.

Somehow the second episode was far worse than the first, if anyone can defend this show after that i'll be very suprised. It's a shame because the first two series were entertaining enough and showed potential, this is just obscene and downright crap in every regard.

Yeah, it is a bit of a joke really. Though before about halfway through Series 1 it was the same - none of the characters were really likeable or possible to empathise with, bar maybe one or two exceptions. In this series so far everyone is either a cunt, ridiculously one-dimensional or just plain unrealistic, and I can't see my perception of them changing unless their personalities suddenly transform in future episodes.
