So this is the PS3 preorders thread: when retailers and etailers are going to start taking deposits, what bundles are available, when people are going to start queuing up etc. I fully expect this thread will DWARF the PWiiorders thread in terms of rabid excitement. Maybe, depends if it's worth it. Most likely I'll cancel or offer it here if someone desperately wants it. With a million units and the price tag I think it will be very unlikely that it'll be worth it to be honest.

Works out to around 300 there and after shipping and tax if you get it, it really isn't unless you get someone to bring it over or get one yourself

I got away with Tax so it worked out cheaper for me.

Yes, if you have to pay US sales tax over there and customs duty over here then it gets pretty close to the £425.

If it was with dhl or a courier they will send you the tax bill later.

If it was via parcel force/royal mail, you're ok

I put 20 pounds on a PS3 at Gamestation in November 2005.

I snatched the 20 pounds BACK last week, and pissed it up the wall.

Game stores son't know about any paid pre-orders. The guy that answered the phone couldn't even tell me when it was likely to be released.

Went to the Bullring in Birmingham, and the shop "e-play" were doing PS3 pre-orders for £150 down...no, I did not preorder it. x|

I don't think he will my workmate reckons he too is going to make a killing by buying 2 playstation 3's and selling one on Ebay i told him there will be more than enough to go around...

The funny thing is he had an extra Wii at xmas that he could have made a killing on but he sold that to a someone for only £220.

There are plenty unwanted Japanese and U.S. PS3s available, it's very unlikely he will be able to make any kind of profit. Supply and demand and all that.

Edit: btw, he's not much of a Sony fanboy if all he wants to do is sell it for MASSIVE profit, instead of playing and having fun with his new console.
