Just come back from doing the round of Sutton stores - desultory business at Game which had 100 units and more to come in tomorrow - none elsewhere whilst I was watching and shootin the shit with a fellow 360 owner (2 and no problems since you ask). Game had a few suits standing around looking worried. Units may be picked up at WHS, Currys, MHV and Virgin.

I didn't ask at Gamestation but noticed some very interesting 360 offers right up front at you walk in - not sure what the best thread to post them in is. Also there was keen interest in a huge box of N64 and older game cartridges which were being pretty well given away.

Oh dear lord I have an impending sense of dread. Amazon have just delivered my PS3 to my office - Woo. However when I went down to have a look the Amazon packaging box appears to have been involved in a game of 5-a-side. Presumably the actual box is padded inside it but this I fear may not bode well...

I duno, new console fever grabbed me. Played it again this morning, it's the disc drive that's noisy as hell (on it's side). Motorstorm sounds like it's loading the entire internet. Motorstorm is good..i was angry and tired last night..but the pad is vile. I'm going to play it tonight and probably refund on Saturday.

I'm so supprised you caved angel - If your BluRay drive is noisey it could be shonkey - try getting a replacement a friend of mine got one and it was a really loud all the time - got it repalced this morning and it's nice a quiet.

My unit runs very very quietly indeed. I'd agree that it's as quiet as the Wii.

It does pump out enough heat to enable me to turn off the radiators in late Autumn, however.

One or two games (VF and Motorstorm) appear to cache the entire InterWebanet to the hard drive on their first load, but run fine after that. I guess they're processing and caching textures or something. Even when cached, Motorstorm appears to have slightly longer load times than I'd expect. Other titles such as Resistance and VF5 seem fine, however.

Might have to have a HD install session...im feeling a lot more inclined to keep the machine than last night i must admit. I think i'l nip out and purchase a bluetooth headset, and i'm looking to pick up a 40" 1080p bravia tonight. If that won't make me like the PS3 then i give up.

I know i sound like a ranting buffoon sometimes but i do like good games..and Motorstorm appeals a lot to me.
