After buying a Playstation last week (partly in anticipation for this) because my last one was broken, I'll probably get this on Friday.

I'll have to put up with being ripped off on the high street though because I don't have it ordered any where.

Gonna get mine from Gamestation so I can trade in the over hyped wank that is SotC.

I hope you don't find Okami to be over hyped! Though the fact that I (and others) have described it as 'better than Zelda' in the 'real' Okami thread (RIP) may not be helping

ONE WARNING I GIVE ALL OF YOU: (actually, two)

1. The intro sequence is quite long, unskippable, and makes the in game 'voices' seem like they are going to be incredibly annoying. Have patience! The voices are way better when there's variety (and you're not being 'talked' to for 10 minutes)

2. A character in the game will advise you to use different save slots incase 'you get stuck and need to go back'.. Some people (lol, MID) thought that this meant the game was designed so poorly that you could literally get stuck and have to restart THE WHOLE GAME. Of course, this is not the case.

These two points aggrevated me initally; but if anyone finds themselves getting annoyed at the start of the game please bear with it - it really is the most lovely of games.

And it fucking pwns Twilight Princess.

And, in Okami, you never need to go back to a save point.

It's just they were trying to give advice on good save practice, I think something got lost in translation though.

(and I just failed to explain it properly, too :()

.::: About point 2: FFXII does this as well. There it's just a warning that you will not be able to return easily to a city from a certain area (either by design or by plot) and get 'stuck' without any access to items and whatnot. How anybody could view this as something negative is beyond me. Usually these 'points of no return' annoy people when they discover they are to weak and need to level, now at least you are warned about them. Kudos for Okami if it warns its players in the same fashion.

That is some pretty horrible design though. We shouldn't need such a warning as there shouldn't be this kind of design in a game. Ever. There are times in FFXII that I was led to places, plot-places, where I got stuck and needed to spend boring time to level up. This is simply unacceptable for me. Not when a game finally decides to modernize itself...
