Killzone 2

Its a shame reading this thread that people seem more interested in reading bad reviews and comments more than anything else. Its not even as though many of us have played the final game yet.

Gaming is gaming and I don't understand why we seem to have these agenda's.

It's a large thread, but honestly go back and you'll see most people are being pretty balanced about the game. There are negative impressions from people who actually own promo / preview copies, and if they've played it they're totally entitled to those opinions.

I liked the first game and loved the demo. It the SP campaign follows in the same vein, I'm happy.

There you go - a positive impression for you :)

EDIT:

Dear Customer,

We're writing to you regarding your pre-order for Killzone 2. Please be advised we'll be starting the processing of all Killzone 2 pre-orders today. This is due to the large volume of stock we need to prepare for shipping from tomorrow, so that you'll receive the game by release date.

This will also allow time for you to amend any issues with your card should payment fail first time around.

Thank you for your pre-order and your patience at this extremely exciting/busy time!

Kind Regards,

The ShopTo.Net Team

Sure, but its just that some only seem either interested in the posting of or reading about the bad.

I'm happy to read both but want it to be a good game as I want to play a good game.

Well, I'd rather be balanced about my opinions, and hear other balanced opinions.

I see what you're saying (basically, you're a dewy-eyed optimist) but you're coming off as a bit naive. If others are down on the game, why should that affect your own enjoyment? Just get on with it and have fun.

Don't fall into the trap of over-lauding it just cos you have high expectations, though...

My expectations are quite low at the moment due to other PS3 failures like Haze but maybe thats not a bad thing. :)

Its certainly not (or won't) affect my own enjoyment at all. I lived through the whole C64 v Speccy thing and then the Megadrive v SNES so I know how it works. I've not really looked at this side of gaming for some time though and don't get involved with forums too much and maybe thought the playing populace had evolved somewhat. :)

Yup, just a bunch of Cro-Mag types here.

As I say, it's a fairly positive thread, even though the game polarises people.

Most telling is that people who've played the game through for review (journo types) on here are not impressed. Surely a lack of bias is refreshing, considering the blanket-positivity the game's been getting on the net (that doesn't quite feel 'right')?

And bear in mind, this is coming from someone who liked the first, loved the demo and has the steelbook version on pre-order...

Aye the ultra positive nonsense is as bad and most of it, even in this thread, comes from no real foundation.

I trust journo types even less but hey ho. :)

My ShopTo order's been dispatched so I should have it by lunchtime tomorrow. No doubt they'll let me down one day, but 27 games in and they've yet to disappoint.

Anyway, time to reach for the prayer beads and hope they've tweaked the stick calibration for the retail release. (They won't.)

Same here. Expecting it Thursday I guess.

When did you pre-order? I think mine was 7th Jan.

Not sent yet...

"Not impressed" isn't necessarily the verdict... we're just not "9.5" impressed. If everyone was scoring the game 8s I'm pretty sure that most of the people here with review copies would be praising Killzone 2. As it is, though, pointing out something about a too-high score inevitably has to include stuff that passes as negativity, unfortunately.

I'm right there with you. You throw up some good points about consensus opinion in just a few sentences there though... does an overly positive or negative view cause an adverse reaction?

Who gives a monkeys anyway - bring on the game!

They use recorded next-day delivery, so it should be with you tomorrow. Of course if there's no one in to sign for it things could get problematic; my postman just signs it himself if there's no one in as the padded envelopes fit through the letter box.

When did you pre-order?

28th January. I ordered the regular box rather than the SteelBook, though, so perhaps they received them first or something.
