Why is Batman wearing a coat?

It looks like this takes place in the "Nightmare Dream/Future" where Superman is a crazy murderer (well, more of one I suppose) and Darkseid has taken over Earth which now looks like a Mad Max movie.

Branding I guess.

I went down a Snyder hole (yuck) on Twitter yesterday and it's such a strange thing. I've never seen such a crazed fandom rise up for a movie before. It's a cult.

And now they want to Release The Ayer Cut of Suicide Squad.

Why are they still calling this a 'cut' when it's a new film?

Welll, there's only like 10 minutes of new footage isn't there?

Anyway, these Snyder fans are coming across like Trumpians. I mean, producing stickers to stick on random shit? Really? Synderverse is hardly Star Wars or Star Trek.

I often wonder what kind of people they are. The Snyderverse is such a miserable, angry, spiteful place, I can’t imagine what kind of person would be genuinely invested in it. I’d love to see some demographic breakdowns of who these people are and what else they believe in or spend their time doing.

Jared Lego’s joker looks like a fucking nutjob. He could do anything - the kind of person who watches South Park or plays Cards Against Humanity, and when you told him that wasn’t OK, he’d just grin and say “triggered much?”

He’s probably into edgy, non-mainstream stuff like ‘Joker’ (2019). The guy seems dangerous, like society is a joke - and he’s the only person laughing.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Jared Leto's Joker. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Jared Leto's Joker's  nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Jared Leto's Joker truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Jared Leto's Joker existential catchphrase "HA HA HAHA HA HA," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Zack Snyder's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

And yes, by the way, i DO have a DAMAGED tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 8-)

Finally the worst Batman and the worst joker will be able to share the worst Batman and joker scene.

I know people have problems with the killing and stuff, but I thought Affleck's Batman was good, and he fought like a badass. FIlms aside of course.

So much negativity in here.

Man of Steel and BvS have some of the best super hero scenes and fights. Epicness that Marvel can only dream off.

Justice League is an abomination. Maybe the worst super hero film I’ve seen. Painfully awful.

Yet I’m genuinely excited for this. It’s either going to be a fascinating car crash or a seminal moment in Superhero cinema.

Obviously all the Marvel MCU fanbois will be out in force but it’s not going to deter me.

I’ll be downloading this on day 1 so Snyder has my support!

How can it be 4 hours of footage and nothing from Wheddon?

As Wheddon took over because of Snyder’s family tragedy and the film can’t have been close to being done (otherwise why bring in another director to shoot 90 minutes plus of the finished film.

Assuming they didn’t film that much new footage then at least 2 and a half hours of this must be garbage that Wheddon didn’t want to use?

Charisma Carpenter on Joss Whedon:

There have always been rumours about what went on behind the scenes of Angel season 4 after he heard about her pregnancy. But the specifics about how he responded are worse than anything previously reported.

Good on her. Can't have been easy.

Damn, I liked Whedon's take on stuff, Buffy/Angel etc. I  liked Bryan Singer's Superman. I liked Kevin Spacey in...loads of stuff.

Why do all these people turn out to be assholes or rapists :(

Does make me wonder if the Synder cut may not be so bad after all.

I think Ben Affleck could play a good Batman in a film which was competently written, but by virtue of the intensely poor quality of the scripts of the two films he was Batman in I think he’s easily the worst version I’ve ever seen. I’d rather watch Batman and Robin than the Snyder versions.

I really don’t understand why people feel the need to equate disliking Snyder’s terrible films to liking Marvel films. I like Batman and Superman a lot more than any of the characters Marvel have used in the MCU aside from Spider-Man. I think the Dark Knight is probably still above all of the MCU movies if I’m ranking super hero movies. It has nothing to do with tribal allegiances and everything to do with Snyder being fundamentally incapable of telling a story.

I just don’t get why it keeps coming up. I don’t hate his version of Dawn of the Dead because I’m an Evil Dead fan, I hate it because it’s homophobic shite. I don’t hate 300 because I love Persia, I hate it because it’s racist, homophobic shite. It’s the fact that I love D.C. characters that makes me hate his utterly awful depictions of them.

Given Snyder’s consistent fetishisation of rape I wouldn’t exactly be shocked if he ended up on the list.
