Justice League

There's I think maybe 2 or 3 posters in here excited and positive about the Snyder cut.

But it's us who are wrong btw.

Someone start a poll and end this once and for all.

What the fuck is that?

My exact reaction.

The whole "not your dad's batman and superman" or whatever is entirely fair enough and dc characters have had many iterations and blah blah blah but really; what the fuck is any of this?

It's so strange.

OK the thread has been funny, but this was seriously the first time I was genuinely whuuuuuttt?

Batman and Lois Lane Had a Baby in Zack Snyder's Justice League Sequel?

Quote

Justice League 2 would see Batman discovering that Lois was pregnant with his child, despite her insistence that it wasn't his. The Flash would ultimately reveal the truth to Bruce in Justice League 3 by traveling back in time. The plot was going to be thick, that much is certain. Ultimately, in the big battle with Darkseid, Batman dies in order to save the day.

Superman discovers Lois is carrying Bruce's baby. Be that as it may, they embrace and it seems Clark is content to raise the child as his own in Bruce's absence. But the big reveal comes 20 years later. We find Commissioner Gordon and Lois at a memorial intended to honor Batman. After a prompt from Gordon, Lois decides to show her son the Batcave, which suggests that he would take up the mantle held by his real father.

So the Flash goes back in time to watch Batman shagging Lois Lane. I don’t know about anyone else, but that seems like an excellent use of time travel.

It's actually even worse than that synopsis implies, the decisive moment that prevents the bad timeline from happening, isn't for instance someones self-sacrifice like at the end of Endgame, but Flash popping through the time portal to tell Batman he's the father, which makes Batman act and save Lois Lane's life, whereas he previously just let her get murdered in front of him.

The idea of a supehero who doesn't try and save lives unless it fits their own rational self-interest is daft, and Zach Snyder all the way.

“With great power comes absolutely nothing of any significance to the character or plot.”

Didn’t he want to do an epic movie version of The Fountainhead? His ideal Superman is probably just a guy who sits around and watches TV all day because having amazing powers doesn’t, like, obligate you to do anything with them, man.

Bill Murray tried that in Groundhog Day.

They should have just done it at 1.85:1 so it, you know, fully fits the screens of 99% of the televisions people will be watching this on.

Snyder is a fucking dickhead.

Whenever some fanboy/marketing drone does one of those "look at the IMAX aspect ratio!" demos they've always cropped it in a really absurd way. What you'd actually get at 2.4:1 is the entire top two thirds of the image, with Batman, and the city, and the volcano. You'd lose the back of an out of focus trenchcoat and a bunch of empty desert because Visionary Director Zack Snyder is, y'know, not an imbecile.

This isn't a DC thing, some dumbass thought they'd just crop Thanos' head out of the standard edition of Infinity War because he was too tall to fit.

The way infinity war was shot was weird.  It was shot in IMAX ratio, cropped for standard cinema and reframed from that for IMAX.

Do we not just lean into that and mean it tho? How much fun would it be if they just said “screw it, the moustache stuff ia too much extra work for these scenes. The free publicity. We’d get a “Batman and Robin” level sequel, but it’d be better than what we watched in cinemas.

Seems like this masterpiece is exclusive to Sky and Now TV.  We are truly blessed that we can pay to watch this in 4:3 at 720p on Now.

I hope their not banking on this increasing subscriptions.

Come on now, you can always pay the extra £3 for Now Boost and 1080p

Fuck it, what was I thinking.  Just signed up for Sky cinema ultra HD multiroom for 50 quid a month so I can watch this on a loop for the next two years.  Bargain of the decade.

Particularly given all the films coming shortly after their theatrical window to Sky Cinema over the next (and last) twelve months.
