I think there's only one major upgrade after that, but you should be able to do most stuff.

This game is utterly astonishing. I’ve just played through a bit in Phazon Mines after a certain boss I mentioned earlier, and the sheer size and scale is breathtaking. The sound design too, all the weird alien blips and whirs, it’s unlike anything else and all together the experience belies the fact that at it’s core this game is 20 years old. 

 

The remaster is also a technical and artistic marvel, a masterclass in how to make a game for now what is let’s be honest fairly aging hardware, look like it’s running on something substantially more powerful. It feels so premium. I’ve been playing on Steam Deck for about a month, which is a fantastic machine and deserving of all the hype, but there is nothing on that which matches the visual splendour of Metroid Prime Remastered, particularly on the Switch OLED, it’s not even close. And it does that ‘out of the box’ with no performance or visual settings to tinker with. 
 

I would go as far as to say it is the most impressive looking Switch title to date, and considering we’ve not seen or heard from Retro this generation until now, it’s encouraging to find them not just competing with but on this evidence, putting other developers to shame. I don’t mind how long they take now with Prime 4, or whether it’s a Switch 2 title, it’s in more than good hands.

This. I have a 400GB card almost full but don't want to remove anything just in case I want to play it… My Switch is pretty much a portable Pile o' Shame…

When I got my Steam Deck last year I needed a MicroSD card for it, and the only one I had available was the 256gb card being used by my Switch. Upshot: my Switch now has a whopping 32gb of storage to work with :blush:

Hah. I should get a Steam Deck, but I know that will end up chock full of cheap games that I will never play again!

 

As for MP, I'm another waiting for a physical copy. Although I still have a GC and the original…

I need a bigger card in mine . 256 is just not big enough for my backlog storage.

 

Downloaded this and it's so good still after all these years. Also like that they have not put in a auto save as well . Just makes you play the game properly instead of throwing caution to the wind.

 

Now get GameCube classics F Zero and Viewtiful Joe on Switch and I will be a happy manchild.

I went for the physical release. I wasn't going to play it right away because I finished it on GC recently (which is still a legit excellent experience on a flatscreen at 480p with a scaler).

 

EDIT: Turns out I finished it in March 2022! 

 

But now I'm probably going to play it right away. It's taking a lot of resolve to not cancel the preorder and go digital.

To be fair, even if I didn't have to delay my purchase because of budgetary concerns, I would have needed to get the physical version as I have a gap precisely one normal Switch game wide between BotW and Naruhodo Legends on my alphabetically-sorted shelves, and this will fill it perfectly:

Me too - but then again as my wife said "If you get this on physical I can play it on my switch".

 

Between this, her buying me a Switch OLED and being 100% behind my recent watch purchase I'm starting to realise what the term "enabler" means.

Struggling to find the warrior artefact. Anyone give me a little clue - I know which area it’s in, obviously, but it’s not where I thought it was, although there was something else quite hot there :eyebrows:

It’s supposed to be in Elite Research.

I think. There was a bug in the original US release surrounding this artefact, hopefully I’ve just overlooked its exact location.
