Guys, nobody gives a fuck you have a plastic box on your shelf. Just end your misery and get the download.

We're all going to have to do that if My Nintendo Store get exclusivity.

..on a tangent RE: Physical. This isn't related to Switch, but is with the new gen consoles.

I was digital only on PS4 for about 4 years, but games where all under 40gb in size, to fit on a disc, apart from the few live service type games like COD/Destiny.

PS5 games are often hitting just under 100gb on a UHD! like the new God of War! Having a disc to install and not trying to download these MASSIVE games is so much more convenient from that point of view.

Having a disc becomes largely moot if a game receives significant patches. Your disc becomes a key.

But that's a side issue. Personally, I'm waiting for the release because I'm busy right now, but won't be so busy in March, and it'll make a nice treat. That, plus as @Strafe notes, I'm not so confident about Nintendo's track record with digital ownership.

I've brought my Switch into work today. Can't think why...

I played the opening space station section on the train on the way in. We were slightly delayed, which gave me just enough time to get through to Tallon IV and save…

It looks great, doesn’t it? And plays just as smoothly as you remember.

I’ve never actually played 2 or 3, so I’d love remasters of both in the future too, but for now this’ll do nicely.

Fuck that  - the box goes in the drawer until I'm done and then it gets sold/traded on with all the other stuff.

I find that's not the norm, and most games the bulk of the assets are all there from the disc and the patches are smaller code fixes. God of War, Dead Space Remake, Callisto Protocol, Last of Us pt. 1... all these recent PS5 games are so much easier to install and uninstall than trying to download them each time... or even moving them into cold storage on an external drive.

Sure, you get things like COD:MW2 where there's literally nothing on the disc, but these are far less the exception.

I’d love to play Corruption without silly waggly controls too.

Provided we have gyro - I can't think of any of the other actions that just couldn't be done with a button.

I would *love* them to give Echoes and Corruption this level of update - especially Echoes.

For some reason I didn't play much Echoes. I think I found it a bit hard and oppressive, but that's just a distant memory... I don't really know what put me off it. But I'm hoping it gets the remastered treatment at some point so that I can try it again.

Gyro seems too sensitive with the pro controller. I’m sticking with dual sticks only.

This game looks and sounds better than anything I’ve played in years. And the atmosphere. My God. Absolutely stunning job by the developers. Well worth the £35.

I think they did - the rain effects were particularly good.

I could be thinking of the visor - there, the raindrops' tracks also depended on whether you were looking up, or even if you were running, as I recall.

This still has one of the best soundtracks ever. They should throw all the money at Yamamoto to get him on Prime 4 but looking at his credits it seems like he works more in a supervisory role now and hasn't properly done a soundtrack since the Retro DKC games.

Just like Dead Space, not super keen to pay that much for something I completed multiple times already. Dual stick controls though - amazing.

I played the original just a few days ago and it's easy to forget the approaches they came up with to make navigation in FPS games work back then.

The second one was pap, a massive disappointment at the time.

Conversely, I thought the second one was the best of the three, with amazing boss fights, though the original GameCube release was a bit too punishing. They rebalanced it significantly for the Wii trilogy release and it really allowed the game to shine.

And miss out on the ability to lick the cartridge? No way! I'm not going to miss out on that! 😉

Wat.

Echoes was a hard mode for Prime veterans sure, but jeez, it was not bad by a long stretch. That's Corruption. 🙃
