A simple thread. Let's show each other how favourite fonts! Here are mine:

1. Husky Stash:

huskystashai6.jpg

A lovely blend of sixties style with a bit of the future injected into it. It's sort of retro-retro-paleo-future.

2. Hemi Head:

hemiheadch9.jpg

I'm a big fan of lines that don't meet. And italics.

3. Futura.

I know loads of people who hate this, saying it's out of date and some other guff. To me it's a classic - the letters have perfect balance.

4. Neuro political:

I love low-slung stuff - buildings, landscape, fonts.

5. New Brilliant:

Same as above. Low-slung is sex.

6. Heavy Heap:

A bit overdone, but I like a busy style, sometimes. I wouldn't use it on anything that had to be read, rather something where I was trying to make the font look as much like an image as something to be read.

And finally, Cochin. It's just so basic and simple, but looks beautiful. Look at that 'Q'. Stunning stuff.

Yeah there's a whole New Web Design thing going on, called Web 2.0.

Sites that fit under that category such as Youtube, Flickr, Digg and so on.

I personally ignore that kind of shit but they have some great designers.

This is my first and only font. Technically I sold the rights to it, but that was on the basis of me ironing out a couple of minor bugs which I never really got round to doing.

Quite why I am posting these beautiful examples in a thread full of monstrosities is beyond me, but here are my favourites:

FF DIN

Gravur

Helvetica

Bell Gothic

Helvetica

Because when you squash it together a bit it looks like a nice rip-off of Designer's Republic's style.

Bauhaus 93

Bauhaus93.gif

Because it's elegant and curly and reminds me of those dodgy stencilling kits schoolkids used to have.

Tahoma

Because it makes a change from my usual choice of Times or Arial and so it doesn't seem as lazy. To me, anyway. :)

Helvetica is a firm favorite for many, including myself. I'm also a fan of the american typewriter I think it is.

One of my favourite graphic designers is Max Kisman who works with Hollandfonts. I was lucky to meet him in person in first year at uni and he gave me a book and a disk with many of his fonts

His typography stuff is awsome Check some out

A few favorites include

No I am talking about:

and

I even said on my original post that I like Vag.

Oh right, lol.

Chris I'll o/\o on all of those. Terrible, terrible... Why are freeware fonts always so shit!? Even if they're not free, they're bad. They don't look good on anything other than a movie poster, which layers of effects added on top.

Web designers - your new bible of good logo fonts. Says Web 2.0, but ignore that.

The softies, the classics, the futurists.

Also, FontFont rocks!
