I've never played Nights. Anyone care to explain it to me?

Risking a beard here.

The main flying bit is simple. The level is cylindrical and you push right

to progress around it. When you fly, you leave a trail of stars which you trap enemies in if you do a loop around them. You collect crystals as you go and when you have enough you can break open a cage and finish the level.

No beard.

So it's sort of a flying, more freeform version of Sonic then? Or is that doing it a disservice?

Much better than Sonic imho. Feels really rewarding to play as you replay the same levels, getting better and better.

To be honest though, I'm not too hopeful this sequel will be any good, based on Sonic Team's recent output.

I bet it'll be shit. :(

'Fraid so too. Naka is not involved apparently and Sega's recent output isn't exactely reason to get all excited.

To hazard a guess, I'd say moving it around will control the nights character. The gameplay takes place on a 2D plane to I'd imagine all sorts of gestures could be used to make little stunts happen.

The original Nights was one of the first games to use an analogue stick and it really benefitted from that level of control. The Wii wand should do the same.

That magazine isn't a photo of a magazine. It's the actual file. So, unless the cover has leaked from the Art Director himself, which is possible but unlikely, then this is just a simple mock up anyone could've done.

.::: I can't 'educate' you. The game simply never registered a spark with me. With a bit of bad luck Artoon and Sonic Team will be co-developing this...
