I am constantly amazed at the amount of people I see playing the GH series who sit down to play. There's no way I can sit through this game. The missus reckons I look like a right loon whilst strutting around. It's just impossible not to get caught in the zone with these games.

My girlfriend sits down to play. I have tried but it feels wrong. Rock Band even has me jumping off the furniture whenever we get a whole band going.

I've only just found out about the Companion Pack DLC that is apparently only available if purchasing the official soundtrack CD...

Is this the only way the three tracks are ever going to be made available? Seems ridiculous.

I'm really annoyed as I'm a big Marilyn Manson fan and one of the tracks is Putting Holes In Happiness.

FFS Activision, release a Manson track pack!!!!

Heh, I do both. Sometimes when I'm just relaxing I will sit but if I've had a few drinks and friends are round then we'll be standing up prancing about, I imagine even more so with Rock Band if I ever play it!

Not sure if I had my wires crossed but was the Xbox 360 Rock Band guitar supposed to work with Guitar Hero 3 or has that never been the case? It didn't work when I tried it the other night since my xplorer is pretty knackered and up strums often double hit, wondered if it's always been like that or whether they patched it to stop working. It wouldn't even use the green or start buttons to skip the intro, clearly the last Guitar Hero game I'm gonna buy.

I've put this in the bargains folder, but just in case anyone misses it the PS3 and 360 versions (with guitar) are 45 quid in HMV at the minute. At least in Edinburgh. Think it may possibly be all versions as well.

New, free DLC tomorrow:

L70 Elite Tauren Chieftain's number-one hit single (for WoW players) "I Am Murloc" will be available for Guitar Hero 3 on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms beginning tomorrow. Apparently the song is promotionally related to this weekend's Worldwide Invitational in Paris – not to mention that upcoming game announcement – but we know what it's really about. It's business time.

Just to beat it? Or to 5* it?

Can you play the "gallop" bits without failing? That's pretty much a prerequisite. You'll find that if you just strum a "normal" rhythm (instead of the 3/3/3/3 rhythm) it still works. You hit the first note of the three a bit early, and the last one a bit late, but they still register. I found that technique invaluable on Hard and Expert.

If you can master those bits, you'll find yourself with enough star power to use during the infamous "Mosh 1" section that most people fail at, though ideally try to get through it without wasting it. If you're aiming for 5*, just practice this section to death ... you'll eventually be able to string the odd 4x multiplier together here and there. I 5*'d the song, but still can't full-combo that bit. :(

If you can make it through "Mosh 1" without Star Power, one of the best times to use it is during the sequences of 14 chords (12 the same, followed by 2) somewhere in the middle of the song. You'll get more Star Power out of one of those sequences, so use it on the sequence afterwards.

I just saw the worst videogame advert I've ever seen, and I've seen Sony's.

GHIII on Wii - Some people playing Paint it Black on easy, and when they showed the gameplay it looked like the dullest game in the world. I can't imagine anyone desiring the game after that.

LOL. Aye, it's awful compared to the Slash/Velvet Revolver ad.

can anyone help? I've just got the xbox360 live thing up and running, and I entered a GH3 game with someone and now the wireless guitar wont work...Ive tried pressing both the wireless buttons, but still nothing...my gaming partner must think Im mental.

Sounds like the guitar is assigned to the wrong quadrant/profile.

Switch it all off, then turn the 360 on using the wireless guitar so it gets assigned to quadrant 1 and then, if it doesn't do it automatically, sign into your gamertag, launch game, hey presto !

Good thinking, yeah San, did you turn on your pad too?

Well I had the pad in and was using that to select my song etc...but then when it came to the game, it wouldnt work.

So Ive just tried turning it off and on again and got a game going, left out the pad and just used the guitar...mid way through a song it loses the wireless connection...

And was that one of YOU fuckers (martini33) who I just played? Fire and fury on expert..!! WTF!!!!!

I thought my arms would fall off!! And some other shit on expert too, and then Slow ride -on expert..which I must add I was very fucking close to actually winning that.

But yet again the wireless falls off.
