Cheers. I wish they'd stuck in a few more missions, it's obvious that a lot of work went into the new map and some of it seems wasted.

I'm struggling to figure out how this is going to work, does the Stranger get resurrected as a mutant? The current DLC was a bit fiddly having to load an old save in to play it. Maybe, even though it's effective for the story, it wasn't the best idea to kill the character at the end of the game...

Well

If you recall you do get a choice as to who goes in to the chamber to save the day. Choose to send in lyons and there you go. You are still alive and can continue on. Or allow us to send in fawkes/any companion

Early days so far and generally I'm behaving like an apostle, keeping my halo as dust free as possible. I accidentally knocked on the backdoor of the whore who ran away from the barkeeper. On a previous visit I'd convinced her to give me some of the money owed and we'd parted without any violence necesary. So it's late and I've been running errands for Moira and generally getting bits shot and chewed off me by all manner of rednecks and atomic monsters. Sitting across from her at her kitchen table and having little subject matter or background history for conversation I merely enquired if she was still "on the game." Sensing regular drug use and the judging by the state of her house I thought I was onto a winner. My pockets were full of bottlecaps and my rod was red raw from rad exposure. She acted all offended that I'd mentioned her past and told me to leave. Sorry baby it's not your night, I whipped out a tire iron and proceeded to batter her skull in. She pulled a pistol and managed to hit me but not enough to stop the rod rage. Once she was dead I went through her pockets and stripped her and her house of everything. I then dragged her outside in her skivvies and managed to drag her body across town. It took a while but after a few attempts I managed to position her body on the Megaton sign as a warning to all the junkie whores that refuse my now glowing red raw rod of radioactive rage.

I think the fun is just beginning.

About the Ending.

Is it clear that you actually die? You definitely collapse, but in once scene i'm not sure if it actually shows you atomising, like some enemies do after being killed by Laser or Plasma weapons. If there's the least chance that your body is intact, there's a chance that the story could have you being revived rather than the cheap cop-out of changing the ending.

My choice would be to have the expermental anti-rad treatment that Moira gave you factor into your survival.

I made an annoying discovery yesterday. I hadn't realised that there were ten levels to the perc that allows you at add one point to a SPECIAL stat. I'm level 12 now and have only upped one SPECIAL. All my own fault I know, but still irritating.

I'll have to plan tonight what I'm going to concentrate on, but then again that means I won't be able to have any of the cool percs coming up. GAAAAAH.

Guys I need a bit of help with a quest called Blood Ties.

I've located the town of Arefu and searched it. Found the Wests dead and now I'm trying to locate The Family and/or the Wests son, Ian. I've searched the three locations given to me by the look out guy but so far nothing. I completely cleared out that Hamilton's Hideout place - was full of rad scorpions and a some dead raiders. There's a cell in it though which I can't find the key for.

Any clues?

Keep investigating the underground station on your map.

The key for that cell can be had from Three Dog at GNR. I think you have to take a certain main-quest route to get it though. I got it on my second play through but not my first.

I'm pretty sure it's clear that there's no chance of that. You get a second look at that particular area in the cut scene and there's... no hope :D

I wish I found out earlier about the Nuka Cola Challenge. I now have 25 bottles, but need to obtain a couple from all edges of the world as I drank some of the bigger supplies I found earlier :(

There are 93 in total I believe. As I'm doing this on my replay I'm picking them up as I come across therm and storing them in Megaton until I have enough before triggering the quest

Yeah, the the total is 94 IIRC. I'm combining rounding up the last bottles with exploration of new area's to trigger the last 3 sidequests I still have to do and for the explorer achievement. Of the locations I already visited I don't remember if I got the Quantum or if I missed it, so I don't really feel like revisiting them.

To think I drank a few just to lower the weight of my inventory makes my head hurt :(

No hope for a non-lame way around it you mean.

They've confirmed that you play the same character in the last expansion, so the impact of that ending will be diminished.

So what's it going to be? Clone, Robot, or Computer Simulation? Place your bets people! I also offer Video Poker! :(

When I did the ending,

I quaffed so much radaway and rad-x that I only had about 120 rads by the time I'd input the code and been ready to leave. But I died, of course, in a scripted way, despite having been up at 700 rads earlier in the game with no real ill effects.

Even leaving aside

Fawkes

and other get-outs, the game itself has lots of possible ways around

death

at the ending, all of which are in its own lore.
