The family are tricky to find. They're in the station. I can give further tips if you want.

I looked in the station! Are they the blokes wanting help with their drugs?

It is a good little quest. I am still convinced

that angry guy's wife offed the couple, as she was running around madly for a while, and talks complete gibberish

.

I was pissing around for ages before I managed to find The Family. At the moment, I seem to be largely running backwards and shooting at bad guys. So far, so Oblivion.

I'm also really low on bottlecaps, ammo, stimpacks, everything at the minute. Only just managed to cobble enough together to get the doctor in Megaton to stitch me up. And now I've got to head back out. It's not looking good. Anyone found any free beds anywhere? 120 caps seems steep to recover health and crippled limbs.

Yes please.

Not really a spoiler, and you will definitely find them this way.

Basically, use the local map. In the station where the two zombie guys are, if you bring the map up it shows an exit in the back room. It's a man hole you need to go down (you'll get a tiny bit radiated). Once you're down it's straightforward, but look out for traps.

I done the Big Town quest, got 300 caps for completing it. Stayed back for the baddies to attack again, they killed the doctor, so I stole the a key from her dead body, went to her first aid kit and there was another 300 caps. Really helped me, as before I was low on everything, but doing that got me a load of ammo, as well as a load of caps. Now I've got like 25 stimpacks.

I'm totally into this now after a shaky start. I'm really loving just discovering shit and having a good old explore.

Just got to

Rivet City

Though the soundtrack can get a bit repetitive but I bloody love Back Home by Bob Crosby a spring gets into my step every time it comes on!

Sorted out the screenshot problem - they were in the main Fallout 3 installation directory... but I couldn't see them until I clicked on "Compatibility Files" in the explorer window. I have no idea what that means, which seems to be quite often the case as I stumble around Vista.

But yes. All settings/draw distance maxed out leads to some stunning images. Superb game.

I hate those big bloody

Super Mutants

. Takes the fun out of exploring when you need to deal with a few of those every couple of minutes, and you don't even get that much XP for killing them. Though the

Minigun

I got of one of them is awesome.

And is it worth finding this dog? What does it do? Is it like the Fable dog?

Nah they're not so bad! It's those

Giant crab things. They keep hitting me for massive damage.

An amazing game so far!

No. Where do I find one? I've basically escaped from the vault, and done the Blood Lines quest, whilst mucking around talking to people, and being attacked by super mutants in the wasteland. Not seen any houses I can buy.

You do the mission where you

disarm the giant nuke

.

Not met any of those yet, but it sounds like I'll not enjoy them when I do

They aren't that bad, it's just that

they take 3 or 4 shots to the head to kill and the bastards are doing a fair bit of damage to you whilst you wait for your AP to load (almost impossible to hit their head when you aren't in VAT (?) mode). Plus the ones with the nail boards are fast so you can't outrun them, and the ones with the guns are perfect shots.

He wants you to blow the bomb, not much use for the house then.

But reading the Fallout wiki, it does seem it's the same quest (

The Power of the Atom

).

I love wandering around this game and exploring whilst listening to Enclave Radio with the president's strange ramblings, particularly the '

And now one of my inspirational quotes from the mouth of your president'

. Loving the atmosphere of this game.

A tenner with £40 trade in? bollocks to that, ask them to price match Morrisons or Asda or something. £50 for a game in this day and age is not on.

£50 for lunch tin, bobblehead, game, art book and dvd. I was happy with that. It;s one of the few LE's of recent times I really really wanted. I doubt Sainsbo's would have the LE near us.

I'm not sure what the point of it is but I went through all of Vault 106. I'm now well stocked up on ammo, stims and bottlecaps.
