Well, I'm fucking well pissed off right now. I finally found the fucking Family, and started talking to the leader...

Haha! You don't need speech for that quest though! If you listen to the leader and then talk to the whole family then things get alot clearer. I do like your approach though, go on slaughter them bastards!!

No. You will have to wait ages for any extra content and theres a achance you wont get it all.

That sounds like the same reason people were giving for why the 360 version of a certain game called grand theft auto 4 is superiour, Still waiting!

If people are actually fussed about additional content, I wouldn't bother with the 360 version either.

Even if I was doing it wrong, why did killing the family make Arefu hostile towards me and fail the quest?

Yeah, you're right there, it makes no sense, it seems to have inherited a few oblivion 'quirks'

edit: plus you didnt do it wrong, i had the same idea too but chose a different way in the end. May try this approach next play through and see what happens.

.::: That's odd...

After getting the pass from Vance, the console to Ian's room states "turn on security" as an alternative. So I thought killing them was a valid solution...

That's the first one I chose - after 6 levels - that wasn't the one that adds another point to your base skills. None of the early perks are too good. Level 8 brings the scrounger perk though which means I finally have a comfortable amount of ammo.

I really need help with this:

Struggling to find a route to Rivet City that doesn't involve getting destroyed by a gang of super mutants at the museum of technology, is there and easier way?

I just headed straight down the river bank and managed to keep out of sight of bad guys by keeping close to the waterline

Woah, I'm a bit freaked out doing the 'Those!' quest. In the subway I

found the message entitled 'Grady's Last Recording'

beside a skeleton, the weird thing is thats my character name! I've always called my ingame characters that rather than my real name, because of a character in the book wonderboys (yeah yeah weird i know), but now its come back to haunt me! I thought it was a story thing but just amazing coincidence.

It's odd that I've got about 50 guns and no ammo, and I haven't found anyone yet who has enough cash to actually sell anything to. Most people seem to have about 100 caps maximum, and I don't see why the player has to run from merchant to merchant just for the sake of it. Just got into the subway on the 'those' quests (being chased by the sound of crisp packets, ooh scary) and realised I didn't have any ammo whatsoever.

The last 9 hours of gameplay have not offered a single player reward, I haven't felt any emotion other than boredom, frustration and disappointment. For those that have yet to buy and want to save some money, just smear marmite and gravel all over your screen and do some of the particularly dull quests in oblivion.

I'm still going to carry on playing it though, I want to prove myself wrong.

If you need the ammo so badly, can't you just sell the guns at a discount price?

Not so far as I can glean from the plonker UI. If someone has 100 caps, you can sell them up to 100 caps worth of stuff. After that you're giving it away, though it doesn't make this clear at first. Considering the amount of handholding toward the start, I'd appreciate being told I'm about to give a few hundred caps worth of loot away for free (even if it is blindingly obvious once you notice!)

Just took out my first Missle Launcher carrying Super Mutant and boy did it feel good! Indulge me for a second

I stumbled across him by pure accident and it took me totally by surprise (was only lvl 5, with an assault rifle, a 10mm pistol plus a few mines & grenades).. so I did the only intelligent thing, which was to turn straight around and run away.. a few hundred metres later when I relaised it wasnt going to give up the chase without a fight, I did a quick scan of the surroundings and came up with a plan which would have made Rambo proud!

I spotted a nice tight ravine just at the bottom of the hill so I ran into it and placed a landmine right in the centre (all the time with hot missiley death raining down around me) I then continued to run through to the other end, ensuring the big fella had folowed me in, then did a quick 360, and ran up and around the side of the ravine so I had the immediate height advantage. Sure enough it fell for the trap walked straight on the landmine, I then shot out its missle launcher and then proceeded to frag grenade the crap out of the bastard!! It was just so unbelivably satisfying and a real pleasure that the AI reacted just as I'd hoped it would.

Fantastic game

How many missiles did it give you. I only got 1 when I killed one, and I find it hard to believe that the Super Mutant only had 1 missile left.
