i just wish they'd hurry up before all the best player have been signed. in fact i thought united had learnt their lesson over this when they did all their transfers immediately last season. seems they've gone back to their old ways.

No, it's was because of Euro 2008.

I was in a club last night when this man walked in:

Or, a man who looked completely identical to that, only his beard had no grey. Everybody was staring at him, it was incredible. The illusion was shattered when he began singing and dancing to 'Build Me Up Buttercup'.

Manchester United have bid £20m for Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov and hope to tie up a deal within a week. (Various) BBC Sport

We all know the guy has talent and is of course proven in the Premiership. A few peeps have said he appears lazy, but I doubt that he will "get away" with that at OT, besides at least he will be available for selection; unlike our current out n out striker :)

Steady on! The way that United signed Anderson & Nani was evidence that they really have changed the way they deal with transfers. You don't hear anything about moves until the ink is drying and the player's in the stadium holding a shirt, smiling for photgraphers. That's how to do business.

It's perfect. Having been the wealthiest club in the country for years, United are always held to ransom - a club hears of United's interest in one of their players, immediately the press get wind and the price jumps by 50%. The lesson has been taken on board!

So sounds like Berbs is on his way...

i don't know if i'm happy about that to be honest. surely there are better players we should be chasing?

Ferguson says Ronaldo is staying

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted Cristiano Ronaldo will be at Old Trafford next season and will not be joining Real Madrid. Ferguson confirmed he met Ronaldo, 23, in Lisbon last week following much speculation about the winger's future. "The meeting went well - I think we both put across our points of view - where we stand and where the player stands," explained Ferguson. "I can say he'll be a Manchester United player next season. He won't be sold." United will hope that Ferguson's comments at a press conference in South Africa will put an end to rumours linking Ronaldo with a switch to the Spanish champions.

Full story to follow.

do you think the fans will forgive and forget this time though, like they did after the rooney sending-off? i honestly don't know how good his life will be at old trafford next season.

So it seems he's staying. I'm sure most of you will be pleased but how do you feel about the player? Has some respect been lost with the way he went around the whole thing?

We've got the same thing going on with Adebayour where it looks like he's staying. He's going to have to do a lot of work to turn around most fans opinion off him after acting like a right cock.

He's like many modern-day footballers: a cunt whose antics will be tolerated until a line has been crossed. And he has crossed the line of no return. He's out for four months, so he'll now pick up his slave's wages until the transfer window re-opens in January and it will all start again. He's made it clear he doesn't want to be at the club.

I always liked Ronaldo, his name was on my shirt after the World Cup. I know he's always had many bad traits on the pitch, but we all saw a much worse side to him this summer and he's let his success go to his head. It's like any relationship - you can love someone for a long time and then spend the rest of your life hating them, especially when they rejected you.

Of course, the difference between Ronaldo and most other footballers is that he could quite easily play a massive part in winning the club back-to-back doubles if he wants to, which might just about see him win back fans, but for me he's already tarnished last season's triumphs.

Umm, well I would imagine he still wants to go, just knows that he can't go this season.

Expect the same thing next summer, only he'll probably be worth half as much.

I can't see him playing like he has the last two seasons at United.

Its not the same anymore for me, he will have to win over a lot people all over again just to have any semblence of the fan following as he did before all this started. And then most people will probably see him as going to want to leave at the first oppurtunity anyway.

If he keeps scoring and helping the team win things the fans won't care.

Saying that, maybe i'm being a little harsh on him. Throughout all of this, its been clear what he wanted, but he has never go so far as to burn his bridges, never insulting or critisising the club or players, unlike Hleb did recently. I guess thats respect for SAf and the club still there.

And I guess, if I were at Real and my dream move to United came up I guess I would go for it.

I still blame Real.

The cunts. <_<
