The old Man Utd Thread

What a lovely worked goal. Nani with a lovely cross into Tevez, he controls it, twists up the defender and lays it off to Scholes who slams it into the bottom left corner. Gorgeous

The lads are playing well, completely dominating and Portsmouth haven't had a look in. More of the same second half, please!

Unbelievable, simply fucking unbelievable. It's like a whole different team came out second half. I give up on watching any more games until we get a win, just too frustrating. The ref was a joke as well, for both teams.

Not to worry, last time you started as badly as this you won the treble.

Yeah but Fergie has (rightly) been banging on for a while about the standard being so much higher nowadays that you need to get off to a good start, and I think most people agreed that us winning the league last season was due to us getting our noses in front early on. At this point we're already 4 points behind Chelsea and missing two key players. Naturally I'm expecting Fergie to say it's all about the slow burn now.

It's gonna be shit in work tomorrow. 4 City fans sit by my desk, one of which is your stereotypical United hater, who likes screaming joy when Utd put a foot wrong.

With City having two wins in a row, and us having not just two draws but also a sending off, and Ronaldo at that, I can see tomorrow being a audiable joy.

If any positives can be taken out of this it's that Nani looked really comfortable on the ball, like he's been a Man Utd player for years. Tevez also looked fit and hungry for the ball, although he didn't really get many chances. What exactly happened with Ronaldo? All I could see was both players raising their arms and then going out of picture.

I see you chose to ignore my reasons for saying so. Now please fuck off out of this thread. Thanks.

Your reason was that it's too frustrating when they don't win. Of course it's frustrating.

I just find the fact that you won't watch unless they win amusing, as if Man Utd are above it all and teams should just roll over for them.

Anyway what do you guys think the problem is? (although saying there's a problem is a bit immature at the stage)

no positives. mark my words our season is over.

you can all say i'm over-reacting if you like, but drag this post back up at the end and we'll see.

hopefully, i'm wrong. but i'm not.

You know that's not what I meant. It's too frustrating at the moment watching them and urging them on to score A goal and watching chance after chance be squandered. And it's even more frustrating to see them play really well first half, bang in a great goal and then come out second half looking like someone died in the dressing room and they're still recovering from the shock. The final 10 minutes of this game were an exact copy of the Reading game, they get a player sent off, we apply loads of pressure and produce nothing. Again, it's frustrating. The problem is we have a poor bench at the moment with all these injuries, and no forwards to bring on when we need something different up front.

What I've been saying the last few days.

Loads of possession and chances, nobody to finish them. The first half we dominated and should have had more.

Ferguson has majorly fucked up with transfers.

Christ on a bike, get a hold of yourselves.

Our season is over? <sigh>

We're going to win the Champion's League. You watch. This is the best United team in fucking years. YEARS.

This

It frustrating to loose Rooney and Ronaldo so early, and only gettting 2 points out of two winnable matches is a shit. But give Reading and Portsmouth some credit, they have both played the game and come away with something. United havn't played badly in either match, we just seem to be lacking that finish at the moment. It'll come in time. And I too have a good feeling about the Champion's League this year.

Its not like Chelsea won't draw a couple of times this season is it? These were tough games that we barely won (Reading) and lost (Portsmouth) last year.

read my post again. i might be pre-empting, but that's how i feel. plus, like i said, if i'm wrong bring my post back up at the end of the season and ridicule me.

i'd prefer that to us being the slack, directionless, shapeless piece of shit we were in the second half.
