The old Man Utd Thread

alright, i may have calmed down a bit and admit i was a bit hasty saying our season was over after our initial 2 draws. but i will say if we lose today and chelsea win, it's almost definitely over then.

we're due some points though but with our 2 main players out i can't say i'm confident. but jesus christ, we should be a better team than anyone in this league with the players we have. fingers crossed though.

Andy Gray just said exactly what I was thinking. It was just like watching Arsenal, lots of clever-clever passes and flicks and lots of possession, but not incisive enough. This is where we miss someone like Saha. A lot of the play was along the ground because there's not much point putting a high cross in for Tevez. Saha was a very good header, had genuine pace and got into strikers positions much more than Tevez. Not that Tevez is playing badly, but the lack of a 'proper' striker is all too evident.

Utd aren't playing badly at all. Richards being the best player on the pitch says a lot.

we need to score though. goals were coming from all over the pitch last season, but it seems like nobody wants the responsibility anymore, so they just pass it to someone else and it inevitably ends up breaking down.

i really can't see us coming back from this. there just doesn't seem to be any urgency with them.

it's not going to be handed to them on a plate just cos they won it last season. they need to start fighting, it's what united were known for.

So frustrating. I really do think selling Smith and Rossi will come to bite Utd in the arse. Even though I don't think Smith was good enough for a regular first team place, it would give them options and allow them to mix up the play. Look at their bench right now, no-one on there is gonna change the game. If Fergie resorts to throwing on O'Shea up front for the third game in a row :)

season. over.

anyone care to tell me i'm over-reacting this time?

Well yes - I will.

We have been playing well just not being able to get the ball in the net. I think all the big 4 will drop more points this season than the last 3.

Nah the season isn't over but I am a bit worried. I also didn't really understand the logic behind Fergie subbing on two players who have virtually no experience in the Premier League whatsoever for Carrick and Nani, I don't think Campbell even touched the ball. I've said this already but I really do think we miss Saha more than people realise, it's just a shame the guy has legs of glass.

Oh well. We did look solid in defence and midfield to be fair, I'm just worried we're becoming Arsenal. I was disappointed Vidic didn't close the goal down, it seemed like he should have time to do so but he just kinda stood there.
