The old Man Utd Thread

Yeah, i'd have given it to Carrik who is back to his spectacularly unspectacular best of a few years back.

Agreed.

Game was dull as hell. We looked like we'd accepted the result long before the game was over. We could've camped in their third, but we seem to have forgotten how to do that. Still, good result, no injuries, what more could you want.

Good result without playing well at all(shows how poor Liverpool are at the moment), dubious pen granted but Berba as made the most of the situation. Fuck knows what the defender did sticking is leg out.

Gerrard is always had that dirty side so it's good to see him been punished ever once in a while the dirty bastard.

Over all, the win is the most important thing so job well done!

It shows how bad Liverpool are these days when you think you played 'well' and we were 'poor', yet we outplayed you.

For the penalty there was contact, yes Berba makes the most of it, but Agger is insanely stupid to present the opportunity. Any striker will go down there, SAF would've had words if he hadn't. Gerrard jumped in, both legs, studs up. The referee is well within his rights to send him off. We didn't play well, but we didn't need to. Two individual errors by the opposition prevented this from ever becoming a contest.

Yeah that 'dodgy' decision for a 2-footed lunge, what an injustice!

It's all ifs-and-buts anyway. If Gerrard hadn't got sent off we might have pushed harder for a second. As it was we were a goal up against ten men; we didn't have to make much effort to keep the ball and run down the clock.

If anything, it's one dodgy decision unless like your new spastic manager think jumping with both feet off the ground is allowed in the modern football. I know he's been out of touch with the game for years now but you'd think he'd know the fucking rules. He made himself look a fool when told Gerrard had both feet of the ground and deserved to get sent only to reply with something along the lines of "So you're telling me every time a player leaves the floor with two he gets a red card?" Well yes actually Kenny, ITS THE FUCKING RULES!

We were poor at times yesterday, granted. Yet we created quite a few chances. I remember Hernandez have a good header fly wide, the goal line scramble too where we had two or three good chances not to mention some other half chances.. So while we were poor, we still looked 10 times better than you. You must be gutted!

Rafael half executed a two-footed jumping tackle just before Gerrard's though. Perhaps Kenny would have looked less of a tool if he'd have pointed that out instead.

Rafeal pulled out of that, and didn't go to ground?

They weren't very similar though were they?

No they weren't that similar, that's why I said he "half executed" it. I merely pointed it out since Trigg had said that *every* time you leave the floor with two feet like that, it's a red card.

I don't have the full quotes from Kenny Daglish and the person questioning him. Which why I said "something along the lines of..." but I was speaking in reference to a challenge like Gerrards, you know, the full blooded lunge. You jump into a challenge like that and leave the ground you'll get sent off because it's in the rules. Not to mention, it was two footed.

Well yeah, dalglish is a mong if he thinks gerrard shouldn't have been sent off.

But with the rafael one, either he should have gone too, or else it's incorrect to say that you should *always* be sent off for jump tackling with both feet. He didn't go in like Gerrard, but he did still go in with both feet in the air.

We've been poor when we are not at OT and this Tottenham should be the best team we've faced away from home so far.

Not brimming with confidence, although we've got our strongest XI out.

To say Rafael needs to play well this game is an understatement.
