Wow, so basically out of the front 6, only Scholes was a first team player last season. I wonder how that'll turn out. I wonder why Giggs isn't in the squad at all.

giggs picked up an Injury in training,

same story first half again all united but useless in the third quater

Tevez has been doing a great disappearing act the past couple of games.

I disagree, everyone has been struggling. Tevez has been working as hard as anyone and noone in particular has been brilliant with having to break down teams who sit back and defend at all costs.

When United, as a team, put in a really great performance then you'll see the key individuals also display som great performances. Tevez will be among them.

Yeah, agreed, he is onto everything like Rooney, only problem is he is finding it hard to keep the ball and some of his passes are going astray. Its easy to critacise a striker when they aren't scoring, but hes playing so deep most of the time its hard to blame him. I think when Rooney and Ronaldo are back he will have a little more freedom to get into the mix in front of goal.

Noone can dispute his quality, he will come good, it just needs to happen a little sooner than it did for WHU.

How? Man Utd went on to win the prem without him. It was a great decision to sell him.

And maybe we would have won more than just the Premiership with him. He had a great season at Madrid and is very different to any of our current strikers. Put it this way, I'd have rather seen him come on against Reading than O'Shea.

RVN was not sold because of a lack of talent obviously, it's because he was becoming disruptive and a bad influence in the dressing room. Again, the same situation with Stam. With these things I agree with whatever decision the manager takes as he's the only person that really knows what goes on behind closed doors. If he felt strongly enough to have to sell him then I have to feel it was the right decision for the good of the club. Anyway we've moved on, and it hasn't exactly been all gloom and doom has it.

RVN enjoyed lots of success down to Beckham and co putting great crosses last season. Man Utd need someone who can run behind defences, Saha if he stayed fit then I believe United would have won all of their opening games this season. I doubt you would have won more with RVN last season, unless RVN can play in defence. The defence lost you the semi-final against Milan.

John Terry 29/08/2007

Five points is a hell of a gap to have this early on.

"It's going to be difficult for United."

"What's encouraging for me is that we've got this gap and we haven't been playing at our best," he said.

Not as good as Essien's calculator, but, :D

Some header that was. Can't wait to get Rooney and Saha upfront though, really not liking Tevez and Giggs upfront, Giggs especially.

Nani, not done great, but that's the third game now he's had a massive part in winning for us. Obviously there was his shot against Spurs, but the crosses against Sunderland and yesterday too.

Nani has not done great? What do you expect from him? He's young and talented and has took to the Premier League like a duck to water. He looks like the real deal where as Anderson looks like a player that could take years to adapt.

Nani has adapted amazingly quickly to the pace and style of the premiership, and I couldn't have asked for more from him these opening 6 games. He's already single-handedly won us a game (tottenham). I don't understand what more you want from him. He's done a hell of a lot more than Ronaldo did in his first season at Old Trafford. Plus it's early days yet, he can only improve.

In other news...

Silvestre out for the season

Now I don't rate Silvestre, never have, but he's been more than decent cover for Evra at left-back this season. I think this is a big blow, particularly since turncoat Heinze's buggered off to Real. If we lose Evra for any length of time during the season (which we invariably will at some stage) then we'll be quite stuck.
