The old Man Utd Thread

Yes it was a boring match indeed.

The only thing that came good from it was getting Tevez of the mark.

Thats what i think anyway.

Oh yeah! lets not forget the 3 points eh.

Hopefully it will give Tevez some confidence now, Rooney looks as determined as ever so I think it is only a matter of time before he starts to hit form, but Saha is worrying for me. He just doesn't look committed to it, he backs away from getting involved in anything physical and has zero presence, maybe a worry about getting re-injured?

Yeah he definitely looks worried about getting injured again, but then again who can blame him. I think he just needs a couple of games to get settled and then he'll be back on form. I'd rather he didn't over-exert himself and took his time as opposed to giving his all straight away and being out for another 3 months.

I am really liking Vidics displays, he just seems to get better and better. An absolute rock at the back and seemingly indestructible

Surprisingly quick as well which I hadn't really seen until the sporting match. The best thing about him is I no longer panic when a ball is crossed high into the box as I used to pre-vidic.

What's so wrong with Joe Cole?

Strikes me as being similar to Paul Scholes, in a way, great going forward and committed, but unable to tackle!!

Agree about Terry, mind, he's always been a fanny and is overrated.

Yeah but Scholesy doesn't fall down when breathed on.

nobody want to comment on tonight's game then?

i can understand they're not arsed about the carling cup, but forcing season ticket holders to pay for tickets is fucking pathetic. there needs to be a backlash about it.

Yet 75000 mugs still paid to watch it - fuck me...

Still- always nice to see any of the 'big four' get a kick up the arse, even if it is an 'only matters when you win it' cup.

75,000 mugs were forced to pay for it.

The ACS (Automatic Cup Scam) says that if you want a season ticket you must attend all cup games. What's funniest of all is you attend all the games then get dicked for the final as Wembley prefer to sell half the allocation to people who aren't fans of either finalists.

One of the many reasons why 20,000 didn't renew and why you can still buy a season ticket.

Well I heard the result - your side was apparently "full of internationals" but it looked crap to me.

And, hey, didn't York City beat Man U 3-0 at Old Trafford in 1995? You went on to have a great season!

i suppose some good has come out of it though. at least the season ticket holders won't have to fork out for shitty carling cup matches now!

Well I thought Tevez was pretty good today actually, Carrick put in a better performance and actually looked effective (mildly).

Rooney and Giggs were disappointing.

Saha still looks afraid to actually get involved and backs away from everything

I think Tevez is improving with each game. I don't see what all the fuss the commentators make about Rooney not being able to play upfront at the striker. One match they were saying they needed someone with presence and an aerial threat up there, and said they needed Saha on. Surely Rooney is plenty powerful enough and has enough presence to make himself known?
