A bit surprised none of you scousers (that's not offensive is it?, it's not intended to be by the way) have mentioned Mascherano. I thought he was excellent, best player on the pitch.

Is he on loan by the way, or have you bought him?

I think we have loaned him for 18 months.

He was brilliant last night. It is beyond me why he didn't make it at West Ham.

He was mentioned plenty but that's a good few pages back now. He is a monster and is fast becoming one of my favourite players. He's on an 18 month loan, we've got the option to make it permanent, though. Which we'll be doing, no doubt.

Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry has belittled Chelsea's achievements this season following their Champions League exit at the hands of the Reds.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho was reported to have described Liverpool as a small club and a cup team before the game.

"I don't care what he says, I don't listen," Parry told Radio Five Live.

"I guess when you've invested £500m it's a fantastic season to win the League Cup. He's welcome to his opinions, we care about Liverpool."

Oof.

I agree dogsout - with Pennant you are always going to get someone who potentially loses the ball a lot (as with Garcia) but you also get someone who can do something a bit different and create something out of nothing and beat their man.

Pennant made good decisions and most importantly made very good crosses and if he can keep playing like that I will be happy to see him stay on the right. Now we need someone on the left the same!

While I remember; Pennant was brilliant again yesterday. He has really come out of his shell and made me feel confident about our right flank for the first time in an age.

Pennant was one of out best players last night and we really missed him as an outlet on the right wing after he went off injured. After a shaky start he's finally looking like the player he was last season for Birmingham City and his crosses have been excellent in recent weeks, something Zenden could learn from. It's amazing to think he's only 24 and has already been part of two relegated teams (Leeds United and Birmingham City) in the last 3 years and is now on his way to a Champions League final.

If we play AC again, it will probably be a lot easier to get tickets, since Italian fans don't tend to travel as much as English fans do. I know a couple of people who bought tickets for the 2005 final outside the ground (£250 each!) ended up in the AC end and found there were more Scousers that Italians where they were.

I should be able to get tickets for the final as i have been to all home games, but the flights are gonna cost a fortune. I have been browsing for good deals all day but prices seem to go up every minute.

Just caught this on another site, taken from a Chelsea blog:

"Gotta feel sorry for Athens - loadsa scousers running round shouting out at the Acropolis "Call that history"

I know it's meant to be taking the piss out of us but I had to LOL. We really get under their skin, don't we?

Right I want Man U to win this so Liverpool can beat them in the final but I want Ronaldo to get a yellow so he has to sit and watch like a cunt.

Hmm, or maybe he plays but does terribly. Decisions, decisions! Would be nice to see Liverpool beat a full-strength Man U.

Yeah good luck getting a flight!

A colleague checked flights yesterday and then again today. They were ~£200 yesterday, and had reached ~£1300 by this afternoon! Bloody outrageous!

I wasn't sure who I wanted in the final but when Kaka scored I was pleased so it's AC in the final for me please. I just don't think I could cope with the nerves and excitement of a final against Man U although, having side that, the thought of losing to AC and their match fixing corruptness doesn't appeal much either.
