I see Fergie expects Milan to comfortably overcome Liverpool in the CL final.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/6637733.stm

United might have peaked in their 7-1 demolition of Roma but I believe there is still some more to come from a Liverpool side that outplayed Barcelona over two legs and controlled an admittedly weakened Chelsea side in the second leg at Anfield. I expect the game will be be tight (but then eveyone said that last time) with Liverpool winning by one goal which should nicely overshadow his Premiership win.

Ferguson believes Liverpool have no chance of beating AC Milan in the Final, and he'll toast Milan's win with some wine he was given from Ancelotti when they lost in the semi-final.

Let's just hope that bottle stays gathering dust at Ferguson's home for good.

Dick!!

Just cause his side were outclassed, as they were at Anfield earlier in the season, doesn't mean Milan cannot lose!

"I'm still trying to analyse the factors involved. But the truth remains we faced one of the best performances in the history of AC Milan."

No, the truth remains your boys didn't turn up at all for the game!

That's funny, I was reading quotes from him the other day, saying (paraphrase): "I wouldn't want to call it. I wouldn't put a penny on it."

I suppose that now the Prem's in the bag, he's got a bit more bullish.

EDIT: Yeah, it was in the Observer:

Fergie, as befits a cautious Scot and a diplomatic one, is sitting on the fence. 'Liverpool are hard to beat,' he said. 'They will set out to be hard to beat in the final. Milan have got fantastic quality and in Kaka and Seedorf they have a couple of special players, but there's two teams with different styles and it's a very difficult game to call. I wouldn't put a penny on it.'

That when we beat you, yeah?

Yes, but you were outclassed! I'm just saying, we are capable of beating United, Chelsea, Milan and Barcelona amongst others. He's either been misquoted or is doing 'a Bobby Robson'!

That left me sickened - went to that game as well.

But, it's games like that that have made them champions - getting the points when they don't really deserve them.

Which is sort of the opposite of what's happened to us sometimes during our league exploits.

Just been offered a freebie for Sunday - dunno whether to take it. Suppose it will be nice to see them off to Athens and it'll probably be Robbie's last Anfield appearance.

So, it looks like there's gonna be some kind of ticket fiasco then.

I have no intention of going, but I've got friends who are trying to get tickets, so I'm following their plight.

The Athens stadium seats something like 65,000, yet Liverpool have only been given 17,000 tickets. How does that work?

Seems Milan were given the same amount:

Uefa has allocated each of the two participating clubs 17,000 tickets, with 20,000 going to the 'Uefa family,' and a further 9,000 having been sold by ballot.

What the hell is the "UEFA Family"?!

There's more tickets going to them than either of the teams!

What the hell is the "UEFA Family"?!

Reps from the FA's of each competing nation, beneifactors of Uefa's, football big-wigs - that sort of thing. It's shit, but not much can be done about it. Wasn't a similar fiasco about during the fa cup final last year?

Whos this Lucas player?

Liverpool have won the race for Brazilian midfielder Lucas, according to his club Gremio.

The 20-year-old has long been linked with a move for Europe, as his impressive displays as the holding midfielder for Gremio have caught the eye of watching scouts.

Gremio have claimed a host of teams came calling, but stated Liverpool acted quickly to wrap up the transfer.

"We did business very fast with Liverpool because there was a lot of interest," Gremio secretary Alfredo Oliveira told Radio Bandeirantes.

"Lucas travelled to England to present himself and although there are a few little details to be resolved, I can say that the transfer has been arranged and that Lucas will join his new team once Gremio's participation in the Copa Libertadores ends."

It is believed that Liverpool have paid in the region of £8million for the Brazil international.

Gremio are in the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores, but Lucas should link-up with The Reds for pre-season in order to put pressure on the likes of Mohamed Sissoko, Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano.

From SkySports

8 Million is a lot of money, and by the sounds of it exactly what we neeed another central midfielder

I think Benetiz is afraid of the sides of the pitch.

Owen then, I couldn't deal with him going to Man U.

I couldn't care where he goes. He's not exactly fondly remembered by a large amount of Liverpool fans and he deserves it as well. He strung us along and since he left his career has went rapidly downhill. Well, to be fair it was on the way down in his last few years with us as well.

No way is he going to United. He'll stay at Newcastle for at least another year.

The speculation doesn't make sense to me.

We didn't want him (nor did Chelsea, Arsenal or yourselves) two years ago, why would they want him know? 2 years and 13 games played doesn't sound like impressive form to me to make those clubs change their mind.

Had enough with glass legs Louis Haha without Mikey.
