Should I feel guilty for cheering when Rooney scored tonight?!

Yes you should. no matter what happens in the future

I was watching that Man U -v- Munich final when they fluked it in the last minute and my mate, who isn't that into football but who's supposed to be a Liverpool fan, cheered. I vomited violently and haven't spoke to him since.

They showed Gudjonson's last minute effort on some show the other day and it nearly gave me a nervous breakdown again.

Haha, I will never forget that. Everytime I see it I am convinced he will score.

I think Mourinho meant that every games for Chelsea has been massive this year, but Liverpool have had relatively few really important games.

I for one hope he stays in English football, I still find him very entertaining.

I just put a bet on 0-0

He gets away with far too much and if the Premier League had any any balls there would be sanctions against the man.

I just don't agree with this. Its pathetic the way a soon as a manager speaks out against something they get fined or cautioned. Who gives a fuck what they say? They should be able to comment on anything (within reason) and not have to face being fined. We're far to over protective in this country with regards to offending people. Its a personal opinion in the end.

@Dizogg - You need a good beating for cheering the Rooney goal!

I do. He's an embarassment and his bitching about the pettiest of things drives me crazy. If he had something worth saying then that's ok but he never does and his fragile mental state has gradually unravelled this season.

I love it when players and managers have a go at each other - makes the game much more entertaining.

No one cares if he vents some silly personal opinion but when he effectively puts pressure on refs to give Chelsea extra penalties (as he did) or not book certain players (as he is doing now) there are issues.

Mourinho seems to spend most of his time instilling in his players how to best cheat and pressure the refs during the game by rolling around to waste time or surrounding the ref at every opportunity. I really hate this aspect of football and wish it was taken out. Man U used to be the worst for this but Chelsea have become far worse this season. This makes it all the worse when he then turns around and accuses others of doing it.

Of course Benitez does a great job of deflecting the blame highlighting how Alonso was targetted for a yellow card and hence a suspension the last time around but it means that Drogba will be offered extra protection in this game because the ref will not want to be seen as "falling" for games by Liverpool players in trying to get him booked.

It is just something the refs should not have to have on their minds before these sorts of games. Mourinho really has descended into farce territory recently with his comment on democracy and his pathetic claims for a penalty in the Newcastle game.

The refs aren't that weak minded or should not be anyway to listen to the rantings of a mad man. I don't think its as easy as the ref not wanting to fall for Liverpools attempts to get people booked. This shouldn't be a factor and I'm really not sure it is.

Steven Gerrard has told his teammates they can put themselves on a par with the great Liverpool sides of the 70s and 80s – but only if they repeat the historic achievement of Istanbul.

The Liverpool skipper admits a desire to be remembered alongside legends such as Kenny Dalglish and Graeme Souness will be his main incentive when he steps out at Stamford Bridge for the first leg of the Champions League semi-final tonight.

"We won the trophy two years ago, and maybe people dismissed the achievement a little," said the 26-year-old.

"Maybe they even said we were a bit lucky, but we weren't. We have shown for the last three years that we are a force in Europe, that we are a team everyone fears.

"And if we can win it again this year, then we will go down in history as another great Liverpool side - not just a good one. That is what drives me on, and the rest of the players.

"I want to be remembered as a captain who lifted the trophy twice, or even more. I want to be remembered along with those Liverpool greats like Hughes and Thompson, Souness, Neal and Dalglish.

"That is why you will see us out there giving it everything tonight, working so hard to give every single ounce of energy we have. Because we want that and we can taste it again.

"I don't want to tempt fate, but there are very similar feelings to 2005.

"Maybe it will be tougher for us this year because nobody underestimates us any more, but we do have that feeling again.

"In Europe, we deserve to be recognised as one of the top teams, as the team to beat even. We know Chelsea are a good side, and really it is so close it's probably 50-50 who goes through. It's exciting, and we can't wait."

Gerrard insists that it is a drive for medals and silverware – and not money in the bank – which he thinks about when he goes to bed at night.

"I know it sounds hollow talking about dreams and prizes when footballers earn all the money we do, but the things I've got at home, the medals and memorabilia, they mean more to me than extra noughts in my bank account," he explained.

"Lifting the Champions League trophy above my head as the captain of my team, it's something that lives with you forever.

"People have this image of footballers now, driving flash cars, leading incredible lifestyles, having all that glamour.

"But there are sacrifices too, big ones through all your young life if you want any chance of making it. Behind the glitz I've had to give a hell of a lot of blood and sweat over the years, some tears as well. When you get that trophy above your head, and you get that feeling in your head, that buzz, that sense of being alive, then it is all worth it, believe me."

Attending the Hillsborough Memorial Service at Anfield last week, Gerrard sat next to Robbie Fowler listening in hushed reverence.

And it was then, at that poignant moment, that a memory sparked for the Huyton-born midfielder that he will hold with him when he's battling it out with Lampard and co this evening.

"I whispered to Robbie that I could picture perfectly the days I stood on the Kop, and literally got carried 20 or 30 yards as the crowd surged forward when he scored a goal," said the Reds captain.

"God it was incredible. I would watch the likes of Ian Rush and Aldo, then as I got older John Barnes, Jamie Redknapp and Robbie, and hope and pray and dream like mad that it would be me one day.

"I never even bothered dreaming that I would ever be captain - that would be too mad - just that I would set foot out on that pitch, just the once.

"And d'ya know what, even now, I can't put into words what it feels like to be living that dream."

Reading that has got me well psyched up for tonight's game.

That's good stuff, that.

Man, I was well pissed off with BBC news this morning. They said, "Well, Man United managed to overturn a potential defeat against Milan tonight (or something to those words), but how will Chelsea cope tonight when they play Liverpool?"

You can fuck off, dipshit sports dick.

Mourinho is hilarious! Can't believe it winds some people up.

At one stage he was but now he's just a pale shadow of his former self. This scumbag of a man helped cause a top referee, Anders Frisk, to have to retire. I laughed and laughed at that comedy moment. Oh wait, I didn't.

That was the crowd, not Mourinho! Fuck knows why I'm sticking up for him I just don't agree with your arguement I suppose.

Mourinho was hardly supportive of Frisk. What happened crossed the line and the bloke had to retire. It went far too far and Mourinho was a catalyst. How a Liverpool fan can't loathe Mourinho is beyond me.

Yeah, he deserved the death threats. :(

Because that's precisely what I said, isn't it!

Frisk was always a dreadful egotist, always looking to make sure that porno mane was in the spotlight over the actual talent that was on display. S'no wonder he and Mourinho didn't exactly get on, they're mentally identical.

And correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it later proven Rijkaard indeed did try to go into Frisk's dressing room at half time, thus proving Mourinho right?

What its got to do with being a Liverpool fan is beyond me!!! So, he's an arrogant wanker that talks a load of shit and doesn't ever agree that his team got beat fair and square. What's new? Fergie has been doing that for 20years! Just ignore the idiot and don't wind yourself up about it. He'll be pissed tonight when he deal with fat frank and his mates.

Disappointed to see Zenden on the left but hopefully he'll do a job tonight (and him and Riise will overlap). Surprised to see Bellamy and Kuyt up front too. I trust Rafa though!!

Right, I'm off to watch the game at the pub, gonna drink plenty of beer no doubt as I'm nervous as hell!

COME ON THE REDS!!!!!!!!

Is there anywhere online I can watch this tonight?

I don't have Sky and can't really go out this evening!

Download TVAnts, it's on ESPN (sort by audience and choose the one with most viewers). Not super quality obv but the commentary is in English, in fact it's Sky Sports.
