I think it must be time for the formation game again. ^_^

We know that at least 95% of our summer dealings are done and I've been sitting here for a bit thinking about Rafa's selection headaches. If we don't sign anybody else what would be your starting 11 for a one off game with everybody fit?

I think mine would probably be:

-------------------Reina

Finnan------Carra-------Agger-----Aurelio

------------------Mascherano

Pennant----------Gerrard-----------Kewell

----------------Kuyt------Torres

Have a look at the second string:

---------------------Carson

Arbeloa------Paletta-------Hyypia-----Riise

---------------------Alonso

Benayoun---------Sissoko-----------Babel

--------------Voronin-----Crouch

I know we've said all this before but Rafa's really built a great squad here. We have so many versatile players that I could have put out two line-ups for three or four different systems. The opposition won't be able to properly prepare for us as there are simply too many systems and players we could use.

Edit: Pennant and Voronin are playing really well. Gerrard is bossing the middle.

Bloody links i had for a live stream didnt work. How did the pool play?

We were very sloppy at the back and the youngsters weren't up to much but the new boys all impressed, Voronin in particular. I felt that Torres looked a cut above the rest in his short time on the pitch. Obviously it being a friendly the game was played at a slow pace but Kuyt, Momo and Pennant were chasing everything down. Stevie bossed the middle in the first half and was replaced by Momo (and Alonso) in the second. Sissoko was his usual imposing self, winning everything in the middle and his distribution was great by anyone's standards never mind his own.

Torres was only on for the last 15-20 minutes but managed to be involved in four good opportunities that should have resulted in at least one goal. He got himself in a few one on ones with defenders and beat them with pace and skill while making it look easy. Babel was looking to use his pace and showed some tidy close control but his shooting wasn't up to much and he kept coming infield leaving us exposed on the left. Overall I'd say it was pretty good for a friendly and it was an entertaining game. We were dreadful at the back at times, though.

Has anyone put him in their Fantasty Prem team?

My formation

-----Reina-----

Finan-Carra-Agger-Aurilio

----Sissoko-Alonso----

Babel-Gerrard-Kewell

-----Torres-----

I think thats a nice balance of attack and defence and a very flexible system.

I don't get it, where Mascha?

Sir Alex Ferguson says Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze will not be joining Liverpool.

Heinze is looking to leave Old Trafford over the summer due to concerns about his first-team opportunities this season.

Ferguson is aware of the Argentine's wish to move on and the player has been linked with United's fierce rivals Liverpool.

But the Red Devils boss is adamant there is no chance of Heinze becoming one of a handful of players to trade the two clubs.

"I can assure you, Liverpool will not be getting Gabriel Heinze," stated Ferguson.

"We can put that to bed right now and we have done so.

"We have had a couple of offers for him and we have turned them down."

Ferguson also revealed that Heinze's agent has been trying to engineer a transfer for the past 18 months, with Barcelona and Real Madrid also having been linked with bids.

He added: "Heinze's agents are rolling the ball all the time.

"But no matter what his agent thinks, we are in the driving seat.

"I don't exactly know what Gaby thinks because it is all coming from his agent, but this has been going on for a year-and-a-half now."

I'm glad that he's not joining us. He's done.

We need cover at centre-back too, though. Paletta doesn't look up to it and I'd rather see him loaned out to gain some experience.

Hyppia and Arbeloa? Is Hobbs perhaps ready to step up (despite playing in midfield the other night)?

Apologies if this has been posted before, just received this link in an email and it's made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck! Just hope Torres and Kuyt will be as good as this:

Dalglish and Rush

How damn good was Ian Rush at banging in the goals!!

That partnership was superb.......bring on the 2007 version in Torres and Kuyt.

PS - That Dalglish goal at the end was immense!

I really don't fancy Arbeloa at centre-back. I've seen him play there in Spain and I think he'd get molested by most Premiership forwards in the air. I'd sooner he stayed at full-back but I see your point, maybe we aren't in need of cover there after all.

Where did everyone order their new away shirts from? £52 is the cheapest I can find with Torres on the back (obviously...).

I don't know if you've got a sports soccer store by you but i think there selling the shirt for £31, without name
