The RLLMUK Top 100 Favourite Films poll

Man this is hard. I suppose it comes down to the favourite/best thing. There are loads of amazing films I've seen but I've watched stuff like Die Hard and Predator far more than I have Grave of the Fireflies. The latter is the better film but it's not like I can watch it every weekend. So I'm comprising my list of the movies I will, without fail, watch if they're on TV even if I've got them on DVD:

Grosse Pointe Blank

The Great Escape

Die Hard

Predator

Aliens

Groundhog Day

Singin' In The Rain

LA Confidential

Heat

Star Wars (original trilogy)

The Thomas Crown Affair

Trading Places

The Magnificent Seven

In A Lonely Place

This Is Spinal Tap

In reality I could easily do a Top 100.

Yes.

In order you watched them first.

One hour forty.

This is what it's like when you're unemployed: such tasks are accomplished quickly. I've put them into order of first viewed (roughly - I can't remember everything!). All are, again, movies I'd happily watch on TV even if I owned the DVD/had seen it recently. There are some I find magnificent that I have to be in the right mood to watch and so are omitted... even the amazing Blue Velvet requires me to be in a certain state of mind!

Predator

Beetle Juice

Die Hard

Rocky

The Goonies

Back to the Future (trilogy)

The Magnificent Seven

Zulu

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

The Wizard of Oz

The Longest Day

Star Wars (original trilogy)

The Thomas Crown Affair

Alien (trilogy)

The Great Escape

Batman

The Princess Bride

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Indiana Jones (trilogy)

Robocop

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure/Bogus Journey

The Running Man

The Bridge On The River Kwai

Singin' In The Rain

Terminator (and Terminator 2)

Shine

The Outlaw Josey Wales

On The Waterfront

Wayne's World

The Shining

The Fugitive

Night of the Living Dead

Tombstone

North by Northwest

The Silence of the Lambs

Wow. Well done Paradigm, I thought you'd not bother.

I don't see The Life Aquatic in there though, so I'm going to have to mark you down for that.

Now in the remaining 40 minutes go and get blind drunk.

Edit: sweetdaddyg: hugs!

QUOTE(Dom B @ May 4 2007, 04:53 PM)
A few people have forgotten to add The Big Lebowski, but I guess that's why editing is allowed. I reckon it's still in the lead over Aliens though.

Everyone is different, thankgod.
