Ever walked out of a movie?

Recommended Posts

I did walk out of Jeepers Creepers, more so because I had an argument with my boyfriend at the time - not that I wouldn't have been justified walking out anyway.

I agree with Scouser_In_Exile in regards to Children of Men - it had such potential, but there was something big missing.

I wanted to walk out of Batman and Robin and was this close to switching off 50 first dates.

I watched David Cronenburg's Crash in my University's cinema a few years back and whole swathes of people left during that there was hardly anyone left by the end.

I'm amazed that anyone would think this. It's the best 'new' film I've seen in flipping ages.

The only time I've come close to walking out was during Indecent Proposal, but I missed the fork and took the road to sleep, instead.

I felt like leaving during Kingdom of Heaven simply because I was so bored. I only went along because all my housemates wanted to go and I thought I'd be sociable. In the end I just sat, had a little snooze and sniggered at amusing scenarios that might happen to the characters (in my heeead).

I wanted to walk out of The Ring Two but I wasn't allowed. It was the worst film I've ever paid to see, and it must have been prom night or something because the cinema was full of loud, fuckbrained American teenagers.

The highest number of walkouts I've ever witnessed was in A Scanner Darkly, accounting for about two thirds of the audience. I thought it was one of the best films of the year.

Like someone else has said, Batman and Robin was a bit of a struggle for me, but the film that really pushed my patience was Robocop 3. I stuck it out, but I couldn't believe how badly they had raped the franchise with that film. And that's coming after the second one. Oh, just remembered The League of Gentlemen film. Shocking.

Never actually walked out of a film, and I don't think I ever would. It would have to be compleatly and utterly unwatcahble to do that.

I'm always amused by people who do though. It's as if they go to see the most despicable film possible, just so they can fill up on moral outrage (I was practically the only person left when I went to see The Bad Lieutenant).

I think i've walked out on one film before, but it was that bad I can't remember what it was...

I fell asleep during 'A series of unfortunate events' as I'd been up all the previous night. Pity, as I was quite enjoying it. I've also fallen asleep during viewings of '2001' and 'Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind', both incredibly boring films. I bought 'Die Another Day' on DvD and walked out mid way through, leaving my parents to watch it. Abismal film.

Fell asleep a fair few times, but never left the theatre.

Yep, this.

I purposefully went to sleep in titanic, not that it was hard with the same music repeated for 45mins, but as I couldn't leave due to being with a few other people I just went to sleep, lord of the rings makes me sleep however much I try to stay awake so theres that too, generally I don't go to the cinema any more though, its always a disappointing experience.

I've never walked out on a film, but there have been a couple I wished I had. The main one being 'The Thin Red Line'. Worst film I've ever paid to see.

I've watched this so many times, it should be deemed unhealthy.

Then again, I am a MEGA fanboy of Malick's films.

I remember seeing a Disney film once as child which I told my mum I didn't like so we left (I was about 7 at the time). Other than that I'm only dozed off at The Two Towers. Only so much sweeping views of New Zealand a man can take before he falls asleep. :)

The only movie i walked out of was The Matrix 2 Re-whatever. Had a nice large Stella while waiting for the rest of the family to come out of the theatre.

Also fell asleep during Lord of the Rings and managed to only see the first 15 minutes. I've tried rewatching it on dvd several times, but always with the same result. I understand why people are in love with it, but it just bores me to tears.

It's my dream to see this film remade shot for shot, but set in space with the yanks replaced by Imperial Stormtroopers and the Japanese by the Rebels.

I dunno really. I think if I were to watch it a second time it would all click into place for me, I just remember leaving the cinema thinking 'is that it?' Some parts were amazing mind, I just think there was something not right - it didn't all tie up.

Only ever walked out on one film - Batman and Robin - in hindsight i wish I'd also walked out on Judge Dredd but the old 2000AD fanboy in me kept thinking it would improve. I've never forgiven Stallone for that one and never will no matter how many Rocky and Rambo's he makes.

I've walked out of a film just once. I can't remember what it was called but it had 2 guys that lived inside an old gas storeage drum or something. They were small-time con artists and a young Kate Beckinsale was in it.

I drunkenly watched it on TV a few years later and it was terrible!

Come close a few times: Batman and Robin, Pearl Harbour, Mission to Mars and Gangs of New York being notable examples.

I honestly can't believe some of the films people are calling bad though: Eyes Wide Shut? Genius. Same with Thin Red Line, Children of Men, A Scanner Darkly and 2001!

Taste is baffling.
