Wall-E - New from Pixar

What I think is smart is that Pixar are doing a few of these 30 second shorts instead of showing too much footage from the actual film. Gets you used to character without over exposing the best bits of a film.

Wish more films would that where possible :P

I agree, Jimmyzilla

A scene and a new short - Wall-E vs a fire hydrant

That's it. I'm on media blackout now. This looks absolutely amazing. Might even end up being the best Pixar film to date. The 'no voices and slapstick comedy' route is pitched perfectly. Can't fucking wait! See you in the cinema, Wall-E!

July is shaping up to be the best summer for films in years. Although some of the replies in that thread are depressing: "Robots in love? cute but a little too kiddie." Yeah because a kung fu panda is really edgy adult stuff. :P

Films was screened. Some of the first reactions over at CHUD:

"Anyone who doesn't think this is going to be the #1 movie of the summer, hell, of the year doesn't know what's in store here. This movie is incredible."

"Masterpiece."

And on The Collider:

"I don't know if "Wall-E" is Pixar's best film to date. It's undoubtedly the best film I've seen all year and after repeat viewings (which it absolutely deserves), it may very well take that number one slot among Pixar's filmography. But it doesn't really matter how you rate Pixar's films because whether you're a Pixar-devotee or a neophyte, "Wall-E" goes beyond a simple rank or score. I can only recommend that you see it as soon as you can."

Sounds good, folks.

Ohhh, colour me very excited. Can not wait for this. Already tipped this as one of the films of the year, and everything I've seen so far just gets better. It's out soon in America isn't it? When's it out here?

:)

'Very positive' is a tad of an understatement. I haven't seen gushing like that since the last Cytherea DVD I watched.

My hype levels have just risen to 11. Going for a black out on this one is gonna be tricky.

Ah cheers. Sucks we have to wait for it. Still, I'm sure it'll be worth it. :)

We had to wait 'till October (IIRC) for Ratatouille last year, so one month after the US this time is pretty good.

Strangely enough, I went to see Hulk on the weekend and saw trailers for this and Kung Fu Panda. While there was some swooning from the ladies at the cuteness of it all in Wall-E, Kung Fu Panda definetely got the more enthusiastic reactions.

Kung Fu Panda seems to be pretty good, according to the reviews and forum reactions. I really want to see it, which doesn't happen often for a Dreamworks animated film.

But Wall-E seems to be in a league of its own.

Seems like Presto is a winner as well. Damn, this package just can't come soon enough.

The Amazing Presto!

Moviegoers who go see Disney/Pixar's WALL•E on June 27 will get to see Pixar Animation Studios' latest animated short, "Presto." We at ComingSoon.net have gotten a chance to see the short, written and directed by Doug Sweetland, and can say without a doubt that it's one of Pixar's best ones. It's definitely a treat before the main feature even starts. Here's Pixar's official synopsis with photos following:

Dignity. Poise. Mystery. We expect nothing less from the great, turn-of-the-century magician, Presto. But, when Presto forgets to feed his rabbit one too many times, well, there's really no telling what to expect! This latest comical short film from Pixar Animation Studios follows the escalating high jinx of the amazing Presto, his rabbit Alec, and what happens onstage when a star magician's ego provokes some clever revenge from his neglected costar.
