Post Your UI!

I love myself, what can I say.

I was targeting myself to show where the frames were in fact. I didn't put the one with Focus target on, you'd have been well impressed with 5 char frames of me!

I'll see if I can get in together for you suzakuseven. At work at the min though.

Whenever people post these ui shots I think standing-around-in-org ones are really pointless to look at. You've got to get a screeny of the most stuff going on at any one time, in a raid (or a BG) to get a proper idea of what a ui is like.

This is a little old now but I don't think I've changed anything:

ui.jpg

The only thing I should change but never got round to it is I have far too many buttons than I need. Especially my mini-self heal bar, there's really no reason to have that there anymore. Maybe I'll have a rethink for wotlk since I have to find space for a second feral charge, tiger's fury, etc.

Edit: I would also like to see Chantinelle's ui. I don't think, in all the time of knowing him, he's ever posted a screenshot that showed his UI. It's like a drag queen being shown wigless and makeupless or something, it just never happens. Very curious though...

that's the thing about raiding UIs though, some people go for form over function, but I would bet that Cow's just works exactly for his play style.

At the moment mine is all beautifully arranged and layed out and textured and scaled etc. but it (and my computer) falls over when I enter an instance for more than 5 people.

I'm not sure he has a UI. Surely by now he is able to tap directly into his warlock's consciousness and control her by thought alone.

That's truly awful tbh :)

What would you change about it?

It's a genuine question btw :) It's easy to get so used to it you don't notice it anymore, but one thing I can say for sure is I do need everysingle thing that is displayed (except maybe less buttons as explained). That's not something I'm just saying, I really do for raiding.

My ui looks quite nice while standing doing nothing in Shattrath, but what would the point of showing that be?

My point stands. I'd like to see Gouki's UI with Omen, with all 25 raid frames, with boss timers, with targets and target's target etc. It's only from full raiding shots that you can get any idea about what to do with all this information.

I probably should have qualified my response with some reasons, in hindsight. I don't know, man. I don't do hardcore raids really and I pretty much roll with the default UI as it does exactly what I require of it. I've tried messing with other UIs before and usually end up breaking things so just find it easier to stick to default and to be fair, after almost 5 years I don't feel I need to change or that it affects my performance. Yours just seems crazy busy, almost like the game itself takes a second seat to everything else on screen. When I'm playing I hate shit being all over the place, particularly on boss fights. I like a nice clear view, no obstructions.

I realise it's probably all very much needed but damn! That's a lot of stuff! I prefer the whole minimalist style myself.

Well there's a couple of responses to that:

It looks quite busy because of scrolling combat text. It's Brutallus and I'm tanking. He hits really fast, with 2 hands like a nutcase, and the damage is so great I'm being spammed with heals. I've got another screeny somewhere where I'm dpsing, and you can replace all that red and green text with like, 2 random bits of text. I also picked a busy UI on purpose because as I've said too much already, there's no point getting feedback on your afk-ui

The other thing is it looks like the actual 'game itself' is taking a second seat because it's not a very well framed shot. The problem with raid bosses is they're so massive that if you're tanking on all you can physically see, UI or not, is his crotch and knees. The problem I've always had is no matter how much I've tried I simply cannot move my Unit frames to be just above the buttons like a lot of ui-modders do. I can't get used to looking 'down' instead of 'up'.

One thing I might try is to move the MT targets down, and then move my target to beneath my own health, and my target's target to beneath that. I could stand to make the buff icons a bit smaller and then it's an 'either side' type thing. I don't know. But like price_hack says it works for what I need it for. It's 'perfect' in so far as it's been a long time since I've actually thought about it, and there used to be a time I was always fiddling with something or another.

Believe me I love minimalist too. But show me a 25-man raid minimalist ui (okay, if you're a rogue it's alright as all you have to ever do is dps a boss so all you need is a few buttons, a healthbar and omen).

I like my UI because it requires no changing to heal, dps or tank.

I like my UI because it requires no changing to heal, dps or tank.

Which for a druid is a hell of an achievement.

I used to have a great set up on Quinlan for tanking, it was absolutely perfect for me, could see all the info I needed and didn't need to move the mouse more than a few milimeters during any given fight unless I had to move around a bit.

That said it was an absolute mare for healing, it had none of the info I needed and I had to change button layouts around a fair bit too. Once big reason I want a new PC is just so I can have more screen estate to put everything on.

This is the only one I have with me in a raid atm but as you can see not that much different, I dont need Omen on my screen when im resto and Flick as you can see that top black border is a great place for current party.

Ill get a shot in SWP tommorow if I can.

I quite like that UI Sith ^.^

wowscrnshot090108224401ng0.th.jpg

That's mine currently. Probably keep it now until WotLK breaks it.

For instances I literally just switch raid frames and click Omen in the bottom right which appears just above Monkey Quest which is collapsed.

Sorted \o/

omg! my private whispers to you shown to all!!

:)

I use default UI, does me for everything I do... I do have scrolling combat text like cow, i like seeing all the numbers... but when you start to do 25 man raids it gets messy!!

Last time I did 25 man raid stuff and had my UI and took a SS

WoWScrnShot_021408_205745.jpg

I was Main Healer of Sunak the OT, but helped heal everyone else as I had plenty of mana and it was trash... Still, looks a bit messy I find so id prefer something like Cow's but mine works for healing, moonkin, pvp and pve

and when certain people delete my WTF folder I can get it back the way I like with not too much effort :)

Cels UI is nice and simple pretty much all the time - I hate having too much clutter and if i could find ways of minimizing that further i probably would

Seems functional enough like that for me and all my other characters have the same setup although i have a few issues with bartender and stealth for both my rogue and drood but as long as i remember which bars to activate and hide as soon as i've logged then i'm sorted

Chauntea - OMG

How can you play like that??

I'm just so use to it now, each time I try to change it I cant get use to it... Like that i can actually play fairly fine, i just got really use to it, always had same layout since day 1 of my wow life

I do really need to sort out a proper UI as this one is probably more of a hindrance now but still

and Ben that old UI is great, the great Shakaraz is there too!! O i miss passion and the 40 man raids!!
