Yeah Aidey, haven't you heard?

* Prologue is only half the game that the full version will be

You people are SO negative!

Although, to be fair Harry, you can't tell people that they don't have to download something if they don't want to BEFORE it's actually available to download, and it's more widely know HOW it fixes (or breaks) a game.

Also, will PS3s with unpatched GT5:p installs be teh raer all over eBay?

First of all, that is not my opinion nor a known fact just the reply from the man himself when asked how big GT5 would be in terms of scale compared to Prologue. Nothing else. Secondly it may sound like I am telling people what to do, but I'm not, I am simply putting it across that if it's not appreciated/wanted then you have nothing to worry about it, it's not like you're gonna' pay for it.

So stop shit stiring.

So stop shit stiring.

so stop getting peoples hopes up. :o

If there's anything wrong with the game now, there's a patch out at the end of this year.

Mind you, maybe the delays are so they can scour the internet for all teh fanboy suggestions for the GT5 final build.

The full game's out at the end of next year

I would like: A hovercar mode, where the wheels are removed, and the car models tilt round corners. Like that "wipeout" cheat mode in F1'97, on the PSone, please.

That'd be pretty fucking sweet!

Fuck me, no private lobbies till Christmas? No chance I'm waiting till then. I thought they'd have them up in a few weeks. While I've enjoyed the game a lot, it was really the online mode I was looking forward to. Guess I'll have to take solace in Wipeout HD.

I find that updates often keep players going back to games, especially when they add new features and not just bug fixes.

Anyway, lighten up if you're not bothered about it you just don't download it... Simple as!

SonyLOL!!!!

It's not that Harry, I appreciate you updating us with the news, it is just that to know that the next update is NINE MONTHS after release. I just wonder if them including damage is worth their while, as I just think that the majority of gamers will have got rid of this by christmas thats all. As this may well stretch their resources a bit thin. I hope they have the rally in this one as I remember the one in GT2 being ace ;)

It's cool that the game is 1080P runs at 60fps and that the cars have 200,000 polygons plus. I expected that the PlayStations number one driving game to have had damage included by now. People have been asking for it since GT2

I am pretty chilled actually, besides if there's a new update, who would not want to download it!

I would have hoped they'd get the private lobbies out by this summer though

* GT5 will include most if not all major car manufacturers

As long as Toyota is present in the final version, I'm okay with it. The biggest car brand in the world being absent in Prologue was a huge loss for me.

* GT5 is set to include a massive amount of cars & will feature a whole new range of courses to drive

* Prologue is only half the game that the full version will be

Am I the only one to see contradiction here? I recall GT2 and GT4 having a lot more cars than twice the amount of cars in GT5 Prologue.

A patch for what is essentially a half of a normal game is due at the end of 2008? The full game at the end of 2009?

That has to be crap. In fact- that's insane, Any other sources other than OPM?

The way I see it is that it's going to be in the final version of GT5, so why not incorporate it into Prologue first?

I'm just bringing the love for this. Picked up last week and i've had more fun with it than any racer in quite a while... despite it's flaws I can't see this coming off my PS3 for quite some months to come. Yet another reason why my big black box is getting the lions share of my love these days.

Why not just get GT5 out? :D

Yeah, because it's as easy as "just" getting it done. 55+ tracks, 500+ 200,000 polygon cars with damage deformation, all looking good at 1080p, fully functioning online community system for the first time in the series with no standard setup from Sony, etc.

It's not like they haven't had PLENTY of time.

That's not MY fault, is it? Sony should have thought about their own online model really.

ps. Don't Sony OWN Polyphony?

As others have said, they have had plenty of time to sort their shit out instead of just regurgitating the same tired old game with shinier graphics. PD have an almost unlimited budget, yet all they appear to spend it on is jollies around the world for the senior staff, and somebody to press the shinygfx button.

(oh and the actual racing in GT5 does not run at 1080p, and judging from the abortion that is the online in Prologue I would not get your hopes up for anything approaching not completely shite in the full game.)

  • 4 weeks later...

How on earth are the drift heads on this forum not all over this like a rash. I cant even find a drift trial high score thread. :-( Its much better than Forza 2 for drifting. The 07 Impreza, all aids off, professional physics is an absolute joy to drift. Im surprised this didnt make more of a massive impact.

Will this work with the old Logitech GT3 wheel? I was planning on selling it but may just keep it for this if it's any better than controller!

Yes it does I've tried it on mine however my acclerator peddle is now broken

My time is about 1:28.5, hardly anything to be proud of either.....

Ranked about 270 odd ast week. So I am sure that I will be mid 300 by now

Do you use the handbrake for any of those tight corners? I'm not sure if you should or not. Would be nice if you can load the leaders ghost car.

EDIT: Oh, you can!
