This is taking absolutely AGES to install and now download the update. Been about 10 minutes and I'd say the bar is 15% along so at least an hour at this rate! Thats just not on. I have a 20Mb internet connection which can download about 10Gb per hour and I can't imagine the update being that big!

Anyone else had problems signing up to that academy thing? I get as far as a page telling me to make sure I have my sign in details ready, but that's where it ends. It says to proceed to the next page but there isn't anyway of doing it. Tried with both Firefox and I.E just in case. Cheers

It's got 4WD, though that's adjustable. Still, the GT-R is boring as hell.

You'd better get a Ferrari F430, a Lotus Elise 111R Tuned or (if you feel really wild) a Dodge Viper Tuned.

The Z06 is one for drifting. Just don't expect the front to come back.

It's also perfect for Daytona Just set the suspension very low, the power very high, and experience it edge all the way to 250 mph.

Man, The GTR is nowhere near as awesome as I had hoped. It feels heavy and seems to run wide and understeers like a bitch, so quick on the straights though. Am I doing something wrong?

Nope not me, I ain't playing it anymore. because -

1) The Frame rate is often totally shit with off putting tearing which I STILL find unbelievable in a Polyphony game.

2) Forza 2 is everything this game is and more.

The frame rate is not great. But the racing is awesome. The 1 series Tii that you get for winning the Bclass races is a bit of a power on oversteer wizard. So, whats peoples Time Trialing car of choice?

Ok, so I have just bought the 07 E92 shape M3 coupe as I needed one for the Eiger reverse class A time trial. Man its a hard car to tame. I started with all aids off, professional physics on but have had to dial a couple of notches of traction on. Its all over the shop on the tight corners. I love the Eiger downhill but up hill its a bit shit.

I had the same experience too. Don't like going uphill on that course - the game feels really clunky when negotiating the hairpins in that direction. I changed the settings as you did and still didn't get any great joy out of it. The downhill direction as a time trial is nice, but racing uphill is a drag.

The M3 feels lovely at speed, stable and nimble. Its just the 1st gear corners of Eiger Uphill are really hard to come out of smoothly. I just seem to light the back wheels up. Im so used to driving 4wds a Rwd is taking some getting used to.

Why do they not do the decent think and scrap the crappy game they have made thus far and start again. They could even farm it out to a dev who can do car physics and crash damage etc.

how difficult is it to download a save file for this. There's no way I'll be ever able to afford a F1 car. Does it affect your online profile at all?

Not very difficult, plenty of save files on GTPlanet. Save to usb device, copy, and there you go.

Looking forward to the full game, just hope damage is similar to the way it works in Forza when implemented, but with more feedback through the pad/wheel. Whist I agree with many points made in this thread, to critise the physics is a bit unfair. Every car in the game feels different to drive, particularly with pro physics and driving aids off.

If the single player mode aint your thing, try Time Trialling. Spent hours in that mode, awesome feeling perfecting a lap !...

I was thinking of getting the Driving Force GT for this, but it doesn't seem to be available here. Is it safe to buy one from Canada or will I run into problems with the power supply?

Is this just GT4:HD with more tracks ? I'm tempted to download it for some TT'ing fun but I found GT4:HD to be pretty sterile and soulless (not something a GT game should ever be).
