Can't wait for the game on Sunday it kind of reminds me of The Patriots first Super Bowl victory against the Rams, who were then supposedly

unbeatable. It'll be interesting to see who the Patriots deal with being overwhelming favourites.

5-1 for the Giants to win the superbowl. I'm almost tempted to stick a few quid on seeing as they came so close to beating the Pats in the regular season.

As usual I'll be heading to the Sports Bar in Birmingham for the game itself for their big Superbowl party. Should be great. :)

Good odds, but.... I can't help but feel that with the extra week's rest and the fact that the big game is indoors (so no bad weather to force them to run) means that the Pats are going to give the Giants a right good beating. Maybe worth sticking a fiver on for a laugh, but I think Brady and co will came out all guns blazing.

I'm sure Bellicheat has had ample time to review his game tapes since that game, the Giants have no chance in this one

Ha. Seen the latest about the Rams game? No denying they're a great team, but there will always be an asterisk next to his reign.

Really looking forrward to today's game... should see lots of scoring. I don't see how the Giants win given the extra week to prepare and the fact that the Pats won't have to put up with shitty weather. Pretty much the only thing that slowed them down on the way to 18-0.

yeah saw the Rams thing gonna be interesting to see how they try to explain away that one.

As a Cowboys fan i can't say i have much love for the Giants but i'd much rather see them win this one then the pats after all this stuff tonight i will cheer for the Giants like it was the Cowboys playing

the SB usually take a little longer cause of the half time show and more TV advertising stopping play my guess is the game will be over around 4am UK time

Edit: it also comes down to how the teams play if it's a pass heavy game it will usually take longer since incomplete passes stop the clock while running plays keep the clock moving the Giants will have to pass a lot to try and keep up with the pats and that will stop the clock quite a bit

This used to be true, but they've changed the rules, and the clock now only stops (for incomplete passes) at all in the last (I think) 5 minutes of each half.

the clock still stops until the team huddles up when the ref respots the ball while on running plays it keeps going under the old rules the clock only started when the ball was snapped

Ah, that's interesting, thanks. Games have been a bit shorter this year, though, haven't they?

Anyway, I think the Giants will want to run as much as they can for as long as they can, throw to Bradshaw out of the backfield when they can't, and try a couple of shots at long Burress TDs. The orthodoxy on beating the Pats (and the Colts) seems to be that you try to limit the number of overall possessions as much as possible, which would also favour the run.

Why do they play this on Sundays? It would be more practical for everyone if they did it on a Saturday. The Americans could then stay up drinking, and us in Europe could actually watch it without missing a day of work.
