NFL/NCAA American Football – Thread for experts and newcomers alike

The Steelers v 49ers game has been moved to the main game on Sky, which is good news for those of you who don't have Sky Digital and didn't want to watch Jets v Dolphins.

Yay, on a different note Sky+ is useless for NFL since it almost laways runs late and you end up missing the 4th Q

Aw man. Packers beat the Chargers with a 31 - 24 win. I'm definitely pleased about that.

Just watched the Highlights on NFL.com. Looked like an amazing game

Farve is now joint holder of the touchdown record with Marino

3 From 3, Packers are looking great

Bolts had that wrapped up though... looked to be in control at the end of the 4th Q.... fucking norv.

Great day of football though: McNabb has one of the games of his career to shut his detractors up, Packers shock the bolts, Steelers make a statement against the 49ers and the Cowboys spanked the bears hard. Crazy game: 3-3 at half time, finished 34-10 cowboys. Has Grossman's time come? Feel like that might have been his last game.

It was the reverse of when the Bears beat Seattle last seaspn. That year the Sehawks were defending NFC champs and the Bears were pretenders to the throne. Make no mistake, Chicago were completely outclassed, outplayed and outcoached. Next three games are all very, very winnable (Lions, Pack, Vikes). If Chicago lose any of those game with Rex being bad, then Griese will be in.

Cheers, but Kent would be just as much of a journey really (from Richmond). And in any case I don't think I could bring myself to play for anyone but the Blitz. I might go down to the rookie sessions in December if they run them again and make a judgement about it then.

No worries.

An excellent result for the Blitz this weekend. Does anyone like the Coventry Jets? :)

p.s. (and to keep me OT) - Go Bucs. The D is back in town!

Damn. Chargers season over then. Wow.

Hail to the Chief baby :(

Nice to see Gonzalez pick up a TD, and LJ looking more like his former self. I swear if Johnson hadn't pulled it out of the bag Herm Edwards would have had no choice but to wheel out Holmes... Disappointed to see the Chargers struggling so much, despite LT looking a lot better in the first half. Too many mistakes for Rivers though, he looked really uncomfortable - although not as uncomfortable as Huard looked late on in the game.

Oh, and Culpepper on the up! Nice to see him on the field again, and looking pretty good for it.

Well that were crap, losing to Arizona when your 3-0 is not good. Also throwing interceptions in the endzone is about as calamitous as it gets.

In other news the Bears falling apart I kind of expected but the Chargers self destructing has caught me by surprise, I expected them to tail off a bit ( what with Norv being there ) but wow they really are deep in trouble.

I am looking forward to the game tonight hopefully it will be high scoring with a Pats win.

Losing the entire coaching staff stings, clearly. AJ handled it terribly: if he wanted rid of marty he should have sacked him as soon as teh season was done, then promoted one of the coordinators. Instead he waited for them to fuck off (both took head coaching jobs), then sacked marty. Good job, numptie. Folks in SD are pretty angry with AJ right now.

Yea. Unforgivable second half performance from the bolts. Shocking.

Between them, the Bears and Chargers have lost more regular season games in September 2007 than they did in the entire 2006 regular season.

  • 3 weeks later...

Well last night was crap, The Steelers manage to level the game with a minute to go and then allow the Broncos to get in field goal range via penalties.

Anyway is everyone looking forward to Wembley this Sunday, I think it's just a shame the Dolphins are having such a stinker of a season. I think Eli & Burress are going to have a field day if the Pats yesterday are anything to go by.

I'd love to be at the game and had a code for tickets but work has to come first. The reason is I'm off to Tokyo in two weeks for what should be the trip of a lifetime and I need the money. :);):(

I can't wait. I'll be in the press box so that'll be an experience in itself.
