Cue 3 more pages of whining burbling about it being as shit as the first one. Boo fucking hoo. Personally, I'm rather looking forward to it :(

So am I mate, there was a lot long with the first one but that didnt stop it from being really enjoyable, hopefully they can try and sort some of them out this time.

Pre-production is just kicking off so expect more news in the coming days. This is from /film -

Transformers 2 is gearing up for it’s mid-Summer production start and IESB has a juicy rumor on the Decepticon line-up is… and trust me it’s HUGE, epic even….

Scrapper, Bonecrusher, Scavenger, Mixmaster, Hook and Long Haul

That’s right… The six constructicons that combine to transform into the huge robot known as Devastator. Obviously, some of the names will have to be changed for the sequel, since they have already used the names in the first film. Names aside, how cool is that?

Robert also has a possible cast/character listing which includes Chuck, Sam’s funny conspiracy theory-obsessed roommate at Princeton, Professor Colan - Sam’s Physics teacher, a bunch of military personnel, the CEO of Massive Dynamics who will testify in front of congress, a Texas Congressman, an FBI director, and a CNN Reporter.

I'm hardly a film snob. I enjoy plenty of brainless action films/SFX spectaculars. But Transformers was just plain rubbish, and a terrible example of the genre. Even something like, say, The Island was head and shoulders above it.

It's weird that the film has divided people so much. I would understand the hate from the fanboys but I never was into Transformers and I found the film entertaining, it did it's job well I thought. It was very much a Bay film but it blew me away with how they did the action set pieces. I'm not a Bay fan but I've got to give credit to him for the film, there's not many directors who could have pulled it off.

Though saying that there needs be lot of improvements for the sequel, like for one seeing who's beating the shit out of who. Also they need to make the Decepticons look decent.

Bay 'I'm fucking you with internetz!11!!"!"1!

From /film

You’ve read about the casting breakdowns, constructicon rumors, and supposed treatment leaks, Transformers 2 director Michael Bay claims it was all fake.

“Sorry everyone, everything you are reading (other then we are shooting in Philly) is false,” Bay wrote on his website Shoot For the Edit. “We are going to give so much disinformation on this film to confuse everyone.”

Okay, so let me get this strait… Bay and company orchestrated this complex plan to release false information to the internet movie websites, and when everyone actually chomped down on the bait, he jumps out from around the corner and reveals it was all a scam to keep you out of the know? I’m not saying this information isn’t misinformation, but why set this stuff up if you’re going to publicly deny it minutes later? Isn’t the whole point to keep fans confused? Or maybe Michael Bay’s denial is misinformation? Wait, I’m confused.

Supposed script 'treatment' here:

http://www.scribd.com/doc/488495/Transform...ent-1007-Leaked

Who knows if it's real or some of the 'fake' stuff made up for disinformation - but it's quite a good read and ties up with some of the other leaked stuff.

Only specifically mentions 4 new characters (counting the already revealed

Constructicons/Devastator

as one) - but they should please most of the fans...

It's also a bit

Empire Strikes Back... (and all that might imply - aside from the 'I am your father' bit obviously)

Though I have to say (despite being a HUGE fan of the place and having had a couple of great holidays there) - that I hope a big chunk of the film isn't set in

Vegas

- the place is getting totally overexposed of late.

Goose, normally you're right on the money with your movie threads, but for the sake of your reputation, and the good of the forum I have to ask:

What IS that shit?

An autobot emblem and a number two?

That's the logo? Really? ^_^

I know, I know. :( It's from the official letter sent to people who live around Bethlehem, Pennsylvania because filming is taking place in a old abandoned steel factory. Hang on, let me get the blurb..Whether it'll be the official logo used in promotion I don't know. Sorry :(

The neighbours of the Transformers 2 Bethlehem Steel movie set have gotten a letter from the location manager warning them of, among other things, “large scale pyrotechnics”. Yes that’s right folks… As expected, Michael Bay will be blowing more shit up in the Transformers sequel, beginning next week (Not that anyone was expecting anything less…). You can complain all you want about Michael Bay, but one thing you can’t deny is that he knows how to blow shit up (see the awesome highlight video from last year). Thanks for /Film reader Ironhide for e-mailing us a scan of the letter, which also gives us a look at the film’s in-production logo. Simple but very cool. Phone numbers have been blurred to protect the production team from prank calls. Click below to enlarge.
