The 360 will be banging out some of the most compelling and gorgeous games reminiscent of '97.

MGS4 - Another bafflingly dull release in a bafflingly dull series.

Sonic yadayada gash - After Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2, haven't even the most nostalgia-crazy of gamers figured out these 3D Sonics are rubbish? More weak installments from a terrible series.

• GTA will become a Playstation exclusive again and Home© will become as big as YouTube and try to be copied by other manufacturers.

• Sony will have a fantastic showing at next Years E3 showing off some software not possible on other consoles.

Obviously the time continuum has been disrupted creating this new temporally venced sequence resulting in this alternative reality.

Here's the present 2007, the future 2008, and the past. Prior to this point in time... somewhere in the past, the timeline skewed into this tangent, creating an alternate 2008

Yeah!

You don't collect sealed games do you?

Anyway I'm personally hoping that Animal Crossing will re-surface as a downloadable channel as already mentioned.

... and Resident Evil 5 on the Wii a la RE4 wii edition - I can but dream.:(

It's hard to see Nintendo's fortunes changing for a while yet. I think they've sold every Wii they could possibly manufacture so far and some big hitters like Mario, Fitness, Smash Bros, Mario Kart should maintain the momentum.

Ooh, that leads me on to another predicition:

The Mario Kart franchise will continue to leave fans of the SNES game cold. It just looks so bad from the screenshots.

3. Sony finally finds its stride after some pricecuts, hardware changes and game releases. They finally have a tempting alternative to the 360 and will try everything in their power to be just that. The battle begins.

Totally agree. 2008 should be very interesting.

I'm not knowledgeable with hardware, but would the Wii be capable to upscale games to HD, with a firmware update? similar to the PS3 with PS2 games?

If so, i predict that! (and hope)

No I don't think it would have the hardware for that. I've heard that the machine is capable of 720p via component but I doubt we'll ever see it (if it's even true). It would be a good addition for the browser.

It's not beyond the realm of possibility that Nintendo or a third party create an upscaling add-on which takes the component output and upscales it to 720p or 1080p. I bought an upscaling DVD player for 55quid so there must be cheap hardware available to do this.

Well to be fair, it leaves a certain sector of the fans cold. I was a fan of the SNES one and I've been a fan of every one since (apart from Super Circuit which I hated).

I agree the Wii one looks quite poor visually. I wish it had the graphic style of Mario Galaxy.

A densha game will be released in 2008 B), and no one will care :)

I also agree that it might be possible that those who have played Metal Gear Solid 3, will be let down by 4, but hope not!

The recently announced PS3 Katamari Damacy game will take a new direction for the worst.

Either PS3 or Xbox 360 will get most of the CAVE shooters via download, and my collection will be near worthless :(

Sensible predictions -

The Wii will have some sort of proper European release schedule where games worth purchasing actually appear with regularity.

Microsoft will purchase a developer of a leading brand name of game to fill in the Halo gap.

Rare will actually get a game out the door.

Sony will gain some momenteum, even if it's small, despite having an exclusives release schedule resembling a blank A4 page.

Importing cheap 360 games will end as Microsoft flex their legal muscles.

New 360 chipsets will make no difference as 360's continue to fail for a multitude of reasons.

Wish list -

Microsoft get properly sued for their appalling Vista software and abysmal 360 build quality.

Crackdown 2 is actually revealed to be in development.

MGS4 actually lives up to the hype.

Konami and EA Canada merge too make a definitive football game.

Quake 3 is released as a XBLA game.

Bungie don't wait 12 months to give us a paltry three new Halo 3 maps.

Nintendo bring in some sort of online service that doesn't use the retarded friend code system currently in use.

Gears of War 2 gets released.

Polyphony Digital actually get Gran Turismo 5 out the door.

Football Manager 2008 gets a console release.
