Yeah, when I think of Ryu I definitely think fat-thighed, pigeon-chested, horse-faced bricklayer.

I literally can't think of any other way it could have looked worse without it being developed by the guys who made Jericho or something. Who the fuck okayed that design?

I do like the cel-shadey outline thing, though - what's the word for that?

The bulkiness of Ryu in the EGM cover art looks very wrong, but the screenshot is much better. The subtle pencil outline around him looks great - just a shame it doesn't seem to have been applied to the background characters (yet).

Oh that's allright then, as Ryu's face is indeed SHIT. Thought you meant the overall visual style, which I think is pretty lush.

He looks like an idiot. And his head is tiny compared to his body. I don't mind the 3D otherwise though. I'm sure Capcom can rest easy now that I've said that.

If the animation is as kinetic and alive as the concept trailer, that will be a Very Good Thing.

But Ryu *is* an idiot. All he does is wander the world beating people up for the sake of it to prove to himself he's 'ard. At least Guile had proper reasons, at least Ken gets laid, at least Sagat wants revenge, etc.

Man, tetchy!

Ryu's development hasn't been in the story; it's been in his style throughout the games. He's been becoming more focussed on single, insanely powerful strikes, while ken went the speedy/flashy route. I like his buffness!

As any comic book reader will tell you, what looks natural in two dimensions often looks shit in three.

I'm an avid comic book reader and all I can say to this is :angry: . It's not about looking natural really is it? I think his proportions in that screenshot look absolutely spot on and stylised. What's so 'SHIT' about it (aside from the face :wacko:)?

Attached the image for people that has it blocked, Of all the chars to bring back Dahlshim :angry: Its not realistic or cartoony, somewhere in bewteen. I really want to see more shots/chars locations and it moving before making a final judgement.
