So, in a vague attempt to lessen the amount of stuff I need to pack whilst in the process of moving, I wonder if anyone would be interested in the two current 'big box' starter sets for both 40k and Age of Sigmar?

They were both bought on their original releases, and literally the only thing that's been touched are the rulebooks.

My grand plans for painting up stuff and selling came to nothing :p

If anyone would like effectively new sets I'm happy to let them for for £70 each (including postage?)

Let me know :)

which big box starter sets do you have? I might be interested!

It’s the Age of Sigmar ‘Soul Wars’ one

and the 40k ‘Dark Imperium’ one.

(both are the original launch box sets from when those editions started)

Still re-reading the Gaunts Ghosts novels, Sabbat Martyr was fantastic, genuinely like an action movie. The follow up Traitor General was alright, mainly for seeing what a Chaos world looks like behind the lines. Now back reading His Last Command and as I remembered this is also a good one. The Mons is a fantastically imaginative zone for the conflict and "rogue" Gaunt is great.

Getting there...slowly. It's not a piece I can do my usual thing of whizzing through quite honestly. However, after the head is finished, the rest of it is not quite as problematic!

That’s amazing @JoeK  really lovely looking. I am wracked with envy.

at the opposite end of the spectrum, I took this from “just arrived in the post in pieces” to “needs highlights” in under 3 hours.

Working on one of these as we speak! That’s some great progress, it was a fiddly model to build for me. With hind sight I’d have used superglue to stick the weapons on as there was nothing to hold them in place, they kept slipping down with plastic glue and I had to hold them in place for ages!

@erhgiez

bit late but if you do another - I find if you glue the gun mounts to the main body first, let them dry and then add the guns, the ball mount bit has more grip (For want of a better word) so it’s easier you can support the guns with paint pots when you add them.

this was done in bits for the first time, I normally painted them whole but this one I sprayed the guns and turbines leadbelcher and the body white.
Then used a mix of contrast on regular paints on body. Got some necron compound ahead of the Indomitus launch and it’s like cheating. Will try and finish it this afternoon.

Having sold the bulk of my DG stuff Last year - adding this to what’s left means I’ve enough to field a small combat patrol sized force.

I'm sorting through my old GW stuff to clear out and i'm wondering if there is any advice on the best way to sell it. There are some high value items in there (a nearly complete Quest + Orc Lair + 6 Characters) and a load of stuff that isn't (an entire box of 40k templates and info cards). Is there a specialist forum to do this rather than running the ebay quest gauntlet or is there anybody here happy to buy in bulk (with favourable discounts of course!).

Sounds like Warhammer Quest, and both that and the expansion/characters are worth a fair few bob. I sold all mine a long while back on eBay and had no problems at all.

Obviously, if there's interest here you could try - alternatively, BGG marketplace might be worth a shot.

Cheers all, I’m going to sort through it all this weekend and I’ll stick a list up here. The 40k stuff is old (early 90’s), I wouldn’t get too excited!

Too late for that me old mucker.

You'd have thought that as a producer of resin figures myself, and someone who has painted hundreds of stuff with resin that I'd have been able to get the damn kink out of a weapon.

Bloody GW resin has withstood all reasonable (and unreasonable!) acts of violence to it and has refused to bend to my will.

So fuck it, one of his weapons has a kink in it. And I don't care because it adds character, and I was pleased with how they came out anyway :p

Does not compute. Old hammer is the best hammer.

I've got a lot of old blood bowl minis to sort. Stripped them last year but the thought of doing the research to sell em is a bit daunting.

I’d maybe interested in some of those depending on what teams.

I've sorted through and checked the Warhammer (mostly Quest) items. There are no prices yet, I haven't had time to trawl through ebay. For transparency though, i'll take what looks like a reasonable price based on an items sold history take off 15% for ebay/paypal fees, take off another 10% for anyone active in this thread (or another GW thread) and then another 5% if someone takes the Quest stuff in bulk. I'll also deliver within 2(ish) hours of Oxford.

The Quest stuff is in used but really good condition. There are a few parts missing but nothing major, all cards and floor tiles are present. Some of the card items are a bit bowed but nothing that wouldn't sort itself out somewhere other than our roasting hot loft.

Warhammer Quest Checklist -

Lair of the Orc Lord Checklist -

The 6 character packs (Wardancer, Chaos Warrior, Pitfighter, Elf Ranger, Trollslayer & Witch Hunter are all complete, only the first 4 are boxed).

In addition to the game, expansion and characters there are various bits from White Dwarf. These are a mixture of punch out and cutout, so mixed quality! Is missing one of the event cards for one of the floor pieces. There is actually quite a bit here although you would do well to trim and put them in some card sleeves maybe.

In addition the following items, while not for Warhammer Quest, might fit in well using some of the blank cards.

Chaos Dwarf warriors (x24)

IMG_4404.thumb.JPEG.46ec7beffbc6120c7b778ddb0dfab8a3.JPEG

Chaos Dwarf sorcerer and head honcho and baked off his tits taurus (the latter isn't really a dungeon beast, I suppose you could clip the wings!)

IMG_4403.thumb.JPEG.b224587a5f69465d6fa728f54a756ec4.JPEG

Some goblin/snotling (very?) oldhammer

IMG_4405.thumb.JPEG.052a1e3b057f82128d5fc2af52c223f2.JPEG

And finally some sort of Warhammer warmachine with a half man half beast. Again, I think this is very oldhammer and i'm not 100% sure of the piece in the top left is meant to be part of it, it wasn't in the bag when I was sorting through.

If anyone wants to make an offer, great, but i'll look to get prices by Tuesday, plus sort through some of the 40k stuff.

Wow! Not often you see such a complete set. I’d be interested but bet it’s worth a fortune!

Yeah my first reaction was to say I'd take the lot.  I loved WHQ, HQ and AHQ way back when, then I looked at eBay and that changed to a hard nope!

I'd have put the value close to £800, not sure my marriage would survive that!

I had a look on eBay after I saw Cochese’s post, I thought 180 ish for WQ and 220 for the expansion. Are the other bits worth that much more or am I missing something?

The last photo is a chaos dwarf war marchine, I would guess £35-50?

I'm not sure the last one is Chaos Dwarf, it doesn't have the generic beard. I've probably got half a dozen random models that I found that were pre-Warhammer from the old Forge catalogues (at last I think they were called something like that?). It just looks like something from that era too, a bit rough round the edges.

Most (if not all) of the 40k stuff is Ork, there are a handful of lead squads and one or two of the named characters. I've also got a copy of Ere We Go, although i'm not sure where from. It's a bit banged up and the rules are useless but it's a great read (if you like orks!)

It’s older than the beardy Persian looking ones. Second or third edition Warhammer Fantasy Battle.

Aw man, I chucked out all my Warhammer quest stuff about 6 years ago when I moved city, just didn't have the storage space. The witch hunter/ finder was a great model. I remember they had a great tomb king expansion too.

I was pretty young when I got it, but it was one of the last things I played before leaving the hobby. It's also when I realised what a difference dousing everything in ink / wash makes

That's brilliant (I can dig through the site to find the others too.).

'Tenderiser'

The old C16 Chaos dwarves are a great characterful range. I bought the boxed set when it came out (1987?).

All the Chaos Dwarf models are very collectible.
