Open forum for unashamed fanboyism and fantasizing! What do you wish for in gaming in 2008?

Try to stay within the realms of possibility, Shenmue fans :D

Radiant Silvergun on one of the download services. PSN, XBLA... whatever.

Treasure's next shooter released. A progression of the Silvergun > Ikaruga idea but with a fresh spin that makes it another classic.

Gradius VI to be a 2D sidescroller that looks absolutely amazing, and carries on the tradition of great Gradius soundtracks.

Another Test Drive game, but set in an even more open environment. I want to drive from coast to coast USA, either at leisure of Gumball-style.

Yasumi Matsuno to emerge from whatever cave he's hiding in, with an amazing tactical action RPG up his sleeve.

KotOR 3 announced as being in development at Bioware or Obsidian, and will be released before Christmas.

Sega announces Phantasy Star V. A proper offline single-player RPG from the team that did PS IV.

Please.

A system upgrade for the Wii which supports playing Virtual Console games directly from the SD card and/or an external USB HD, so I can resume downloading with gay abandon without the faff of swapping/deleting/etc.

Damn, you've already disallowed the only game I'll probably be wishing for till doomsday :)

Though, a true sequel to PS IV would be awesome or failing that an Eternal Arcadia sequel (uncensored for the western markets this time please).

It's got to happen sooner or later. Nintendo have probably got their own official hard drive lined up that will come with some kind of game to make use of it, like the Zapper/Crossbow thing.

Anyway, I'm desperately hoping that some third party N64 games are released for the VC.

This! Also, the levels need to be about the same length that they were in Gaiden. I really hope GV's clocking in at 60+ minutes per loop won't mean that the series has bought into the "mo betta" mentality forever. :D

That DS conversion of Ketsui looks like it might be a reality, so that's my wishlist sorted. A 2D Metroid on the Wii would be lovely, but I want that to be in development for ages. :)

Metroid 5 is probably going to be a DS game, so I just hope it's ALIEN AS FUCK TO THE MAX.

Edit: Oh, oh! WayForward to handle another Contra game, please.

I hope Sony continue to stay in a distant third place, their desperation tactics are always fun to watch.

I wish Sony execs would get their heads out of their arses with respect to backwards compatibility and make the full PS and PS2 back catalogues available over PSN.

I'd like to see Sony just admit defeat to the PSP scene and also allow PSN titles to be playable on the PSP.

Nintendo to announce their rumoured DS redesign complete with GBA and DS download services.

MS to reinstate J Allard as head of their gaming division, let's face it, the existing guy's no fun.

MS to make the full XBox back catalogue available over XBL and finish the BC programme properly.

Alan Wake to show Konami how next-gen survival horror should be done.

Little Big Planet to get the marketing support it requires.

And finally, please give us some more original games! Otherwise I will stop buying them altogether.

Sega Racing Studio announce Daytona 3 and SCUD race combined series.

NO! NEVER!

Though they probably will... *sob*

In that case, Virtua Racing would be a better choice. That game has been going down after the arcade original anyway, so it wouldn't matter much if they made a new version. I actually wish for that to happen!

Something new a bit like Crazy Taxi and Outrun 2 to be released on arcade in Japan during the two weeks I'm there, and then a stunning home conversion to be released worldwide by Christmas. Failing that initial D for PS3 please, with all the songs.

And if they could make Operation Flashback the bestest best thing ever that would be nice.

Arcade perfect Sega Rally and Daytona USA released on Xbox Live Arcade.

The world shall then be at peace.

Not quite it won't.

Not without an arcade perfect port of Drivers Eyes, Ridge Racer and Rage Racer PLUS Sega Rally and Daytona appearing Xbox live AND PSN. Then the lion and the lamb shall lay together. Oh yes.

Alan Wake to be a real hit of the year.

Somebody to release a non-system-intrusive way of playing my PAL PS2 games on my PS3

A new Shining Force title, proper SRPG like the III, none of this spin-off crap.

Syndicate Wars updated, allowing you to go into buildings, plant bombs (for real assisinations and sabotage and stuff), drive around, abseil, and shoot, with a decent World/US map to take over. I don't care if it isn't all flashy graphics, just give me it, dammit!

FIFA09 to come with Be A Pro as a proper career mode, with full player/manager options.

Bladestorm to be re-released and actually let you personally take control and kill people, rather than holding down a button for a while. Seriously, WTF?
