Even the "Do you want to live in a world without Classic Coke?" line is paid for product placement. It's extremely skillfully written in, but its a demonstration of how low budget the show is comparatively.

Are you sure about this? Writers add in references to all sorts of actual products without it being specific paid-for product placement. I know Breaking Bad has some product placement but I'm really not convinced on the 'Classic Coke' line.

Also, it's a fucking beautiful line. It's not as if it's 'Do you want to live in a world without Oreos?'. It's brilliant dialogue.

Every show has product placement. I don't see the issue.

I remember Vince saying they would only use product placement when it made sense. I remember when Walt is trying to buy the car wash place and his old boss was being difficult.'Eyebrows' has his first business dollar framed on the wall and Walt smashes it, takes the coin and puts it into a vending machine to buy a branded drink. I think product placement is justified there.

The Rage thing was a bit more forced with the shelf shot but even then that game was part of the story about how Jesse was going a bit mental after using a gun on someone for the first time.

Breaking Bad product placement is pretty good, remember when Carmack made them a special build of RAGE so they could make it look like Jesse was playing a lightgun game for some reason?

They also had ELAG ('Gale' backwards) written on one of the walls in the build they made for BB

Don't want to hang around in here too long, as I am desperately fearful of spoilers. Have watched series 1-4 in just over a week! It's one of the most gripping, funny, moving, exciting TV shows I can remember. I've properly fallen for it, and I've nearly caught up!

The July 16th message at the end just reminds me that it's not back until August. AUGUST!!!! That's ages away. I can't leave the house, what if I got hit by a car or something? Would be terrible to die without knowing how it all ends.
