Breaking Bad

It seemed to me that Gus consciously decided to forego any close relationships after Max was killed. He appears to live completely alone in a massive house with no evidence of any partner or family (despite what he says to Walt). I took this as foreshadowing what would happen to Walt if he managed to achieve 'success' in his new career - all the money he could ever need but no-one left to share it with.

You know the barbecue that the police captain mentioned this week? Did we ever see that scene in the series?

I think the DEA chief was talking about his own kids there. Also I don't remember any mention of family on the news report about his death, or the DEA ever mentioning wanting to question them so it's weird he had kids toys in his large house. I think as Pob says he's just kept up appearances to maintain his cover with the DEA and his own employees who come over for dinner.

I need a new torrent site to download this from now my regular Demonoid one seems to be down. Where's best for quick download that doesn't need an invite (unless you have an invite you're willing to send me).

Really excellent episode, there's just a sense of impending doom all over the show now, the 'time bomb' comment by Mike in the first episode was spot on.

What's the workaround for getting to TPB in the uk? Are there loads of mirrors?

Not sure about the UK, but googling the obvious will get you to a working proxy in no time (at least in the Netherlands).

another triffic episode!

The self satisfied bite of the apple Walt takes instead of going to comfort his wife after he sells the forever put upon husband story to Marie. Fuck.

Also

Now that Marie is all about team Walt I recon that will spell a unsustainable pressure point for Skyler. Shes now completely alone in Walts world. She was trapped before but atleast she had a sister who was looking out for her. Somethings got to give.

Hazard Pay is an absolute stunner of an episode.

I hate Walt so much. Also that was one of the best meth-cooking montages we've seen yet.

That bit was pure Breaking Bad porn. Totally loved it.

I can't believe Walt is going to interfere with Mike side of the operation. If there's an Icarus figure in this show it's going to be Walt.

Amazing episode but I thought the Skyler parts were a bit silly.

2 shut-ups too many to be taken seriously and the Scarface bit which started out great became a bit comical; it was really obvious what she was thinking from the beggining and really didn't need the "join us, yeah join usss" with the final long reaction shot.

Minor quibles but otherwise a fantastic episode!

I *love* the idea that they're cooking in other peoples houses - it shows Walt has no boundaries and it's all the more people that are going to be affected when he gets caught.

I didn't get what Walt said about Victor getting his throat cut at the end of the episode. I assumed Gus did that because he'd been seen at the scene of Gail's shooting (and to terrify Walt, of course). Was what Walt said, about him cooking on the side, true?
