With no real interest in today's match, and as a complete neutral, i'd just like to say that Steven Pienaar is one of the most blatantly embarassing diving cheats i've seen in a Prem team in a long time. I walked past my TV at one point & he fell over. Shameful today

Fully expect to get flamed for stating this in an Everton thread, but it had to be said.

I don't think there's an Everton fan alive that gives a shit enough to flame you. We're all too busy dreaming of Phil Neville lifting the FA Cup.

Well saturday didn't go well but you have to hand it to Moyes, he's instilled discipline back into the team. Lovely goals tonight, shame no channel 5 coverage but a decent enough stream was found on the interpipes.

I wouldn't be surprised if Davey kept Lescott in the reserves until September. Give him som etime to have a proper think and regain some focus.

I think a much increased bid from Man City will see Lescott moving as Moyes suggested today with his remark about everyone having a price. In the past Moyes has been quick to offload players that have caused disruption and £25million could be used to add numbers to a very small squad.

And yes, some excellent goals tonight. Rodwell is going to be immense this season.

What's he said now? All I heard today was him reading from his usual script "We've made bids, Everton have rejected them. That's where we are" "We've always said we'll walk away from any deals that drag on too long."

He's been saying that, word for word, since July. He has had a couple of digs about talking to the people that matter at Everton and that it's never great when a big club come in for your players. Quite cheeky of course but they only came after Moyes said Hughes had acted 'disgustingly' though.

Moyes needs to have a word with his chairman rather than City. If there was no deal to be struck we'd have moved on ages ago. I still think Moyes could get his way, the longer this goes on the more likely we could have the rug pulled from under us but it's clear that not everyone at Everton was as adamant as Moyes, hence him having to soften his stance the past few days.

Personally I'm hoping something has been agreed already and it's just a case of working the media and other clubs whilst you get some replacements. Theoretically it will be easier for you to get better deals without £25m headlines being thrown around.

A great family friend, Jim Hacking, has died: http://www.wirralnews.co.uk/wirral-news/local-wirral-news/2011/02/02/former-everton-fc-director-and-wirral-businessman-jim-hacking-dies-aged-90-100252-28097938/

I knew him all my life. He was an Everton director for many years and then a life president. He would often pick me up on the way to the match to watch the game in the director's box.

In recent years he had executive seats which I very occasionally got to use when he was on holiday.

His sons are already Everton share holders and will presumably inherit his shares.

His memorial service will be in West Kirby next Friday.

So final game of the season.

Chelski turned over with ten men. By all accounts the ref did his best to help them to a win, including doing exactly what Lampard said all game. Highlights should be interesting.

Beckford's goal however, epic. Worth waiting until the last game on MOTD (which we always are, dirty red in the editing suite no doubt) to see it!

First post of the new season.

Currently thanks to the spurs we're sitting in 6th! Anyone who saw the first couple of games would never believe it. The new boys Drenthe and Straqualursi look good feet in on loan. Here's hoping we keep the luck rolling over the next couple of games, though we generally always do nicely against Citeh... Usually...

Following on from our run of nasty games and 'interesting' refereeing decisions a possible win game comes along at Fulham, one of our bogey teams.

An early goal from Batman Drenthe and the team decided to sit back, beckoning Fulham pressure lasting almost until the final whistle. Apocalypse Vellios switches out for Captain Sicknote - King Louis and Fulham bring on some Costa Rican bloke with a mullet. And the mullet get's the next goal. The game then shifts firmly in Fulham's favor ending in a shocking miss by big Bobby as he skies it with an empty net. This must've woken the spirit of the blues as near instantly Saha announces his fitness with what surely must be a 90th minute winner. But wait, there is more as RODZILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLA snaps the spine of the Fulham spirit with an unnecessary but welcome third.

Full-time Fulham 1 Everton 3 and only the second away win in this fixture from the past 21 games (both Everton's).
