Sorry if this has already been asked, but does Alan actually get to see any of the footage of the days events before they go into the boardroom, or does he rely entirely on the assistants feedback and the boardroom chats? I know the show makes it out to be the latter, but has it ever been confirmed just how much insight he really has?

I think it's always been stated as the later in interviews etc

What people who think Simon would have made a good employee seem to miss is that he already was 'the finished product'. If you can't get a grip on your emotions in a business environment by the age of 32, then you never will. In spite of what Sir Alan said about him not being smart enough etc, the real reason he went was because he couldn't handle himself professionally - and that's why Claire will go as well. Alex, you will notice, doesn't put a foot wrong in this regard.

That's sort of what I meant to say - it would be easier to show someone how to run a team than it would be to correct or aadpt their personality to suit a business environment. I thought Simon was the only one prepared to say 'yes, I ballsed it up,and yes, I won't be doing it again: next!', rather than 'it wasn't me, it was her/him/the plant in the corner, just don't blame me!' which is what all the others seemed to be doing. I also think that I would prefer the former to work with. Cut-throat ruthlessness seems to work for the actual TV show, but how do these people actually get on with anyone in the day-to-day environment of the office?

But then I really liked Katie from the last series, which only proves my massive inconsistency. Although, she was perfectly frank about her desires and personality as well.

I've been working from home today, so decided to put Season 1 UK on in the background...those contestants would destroy this lot (even the tasks seem better).

Is that online anywhere, or do you have a personal download? And is season 2 online anywhere?

As for those defending Simon, when he himself admits he was out of his depth I'm not sure why anybody would disagree with the decision to get rid?

I think the difference was that Simon seemed to be quite genuine, likable, humble, hard working and have his wits about him amongst a group of incompetent supremely arrogant posh twerps. On the other hand, it's hard to say with the sheer amount of blatant editing the BBC must do to make them all look as foolish as possible.

Personal. You can download it http://www.mininova.org/search/Apprentice+UK/size

But no season 2 (although I have that too! Mwahaha!)

He did it last week too. "I'm selling like hot cakes". WUT? What does he mean? He's selling himself? He has the same selling style as a cake? WHAT?

We noticed that too. I'm telling you...it's his catchphrase.

Naughty naughty...linking to torrents ;)

The editing is very clever in the apprentice. They do subtle things like showing the tripod falling over, all incidental stuff which means nothing, but zoom a camera in on it and all of a sudden you are thinking "what an incompetent buffoon"

That said you cant really edit that speach, Malcom X could have said it and it would still have sounded shit.

Look again at the whole setting up sequence. Simon doesn't appear to be in control. And having given the big speech about how he knew what he was doing with cameras and stuff, a minor problem with a tripod suddenly becomes a MAJOR problem. If he can't do that right, what else is he going to get wrong?

I came to the conclusion that he sees some of it, as last week (or the week before?) he pulled someone up for saying 'that word (losing) is not in my vocabulary', which was shown along with footage of the task.

Can't remember who it was?

That footage was from the interview before the show started

Ian, and he said it on his CV (which SirA does read) as well as the interview footage (No idea if he sees that). Same with Nick and his "my one failure in life was getting a B"

You can see all the CVs on SirA's desk during the final boardroom.

So then...who's going tonight? I have no idea (Lucinda looked like on PM)

We have a theory that Lucinda is being made to look dippy and fluffy through the sheer power of editing, so that her resounding future successes seem even more astounding. Where the hat comes into this theory we're not sure. I really, really hope that it is a tactical deployment to ensure that she is thoroughly underestimated by all the bitchy girls who have shouted at her, before the hat splits and out pours pure business acumen!

I hope thats how she's playing it, becuase she's coming across (via editing natch) and a total dimwit. And surely she cant be or she wouldnt even be on there?
