The Apprentice - Wed BBC1 9pm

So Sir Alan has avoided resposibility for actually choosing who should be the winner. He seperates his two prefered candidates (Alex andClur) into seperate teams for the final, so whichever of them is on the winning team willclaim the prize.

It was also interesting in the boardroom that he wasn't interested in the candidates hard luck backgrounds. It a couple of series back that he chose Michelle(?) for that very reason, but she didn't last too long at Amstrad.

He is quite funny with his observations, but I've seen some of his material and he's like a slightly wittier (not sure how to spell it, where's Lee when you need him...?) and less physically skilled version of Lee Evans, I reckon.

Still though, back on topic, we get one more week with Sophocoles! :D This time with added Kevin before they vanish into the void with the rest of the hilariously entertaining bumbling idiots.

I think it was the right decision due to the fact that Lucinda just doesn't seem like 'apprentice' material, despite the fact that she obviously has skills.

The lads he is left with could be fashioned into something useful but I think that Claire is the strongest candidate as they stand.

I've nothing against Helene but she is typical middle-management and not really dynamic enough. I know that sounds a bit harsh but I'll admit that that's a bit like me. I can do my job well, manage teams and get results but you need more than that to really push on in a fast-paced environment.

Obviously it's panning out exactly as I predicted it re Alex and Claire, but the boardroom comments about Lucinda only being able to lead a team as a reason to fire her are just ridiculous. Sir Alan spouting off all that shit about him being the leader in his company, not her, immediately after we've seen him chatting to a guy he specifically employs as a leader in his company.

I guess we're supposed to ignore all that, and assume that Sir Alan Enterprises consists of Sir Alan Sugar, CEO, who personally instructs every employee in the company...BECAUSE HE'S THE LEADER.

I think he often says things that have an easy argument against them to see if the candidate will fight back. She didn't, on that front.

No. it's because they couldn't come up with a halfway decent reason to give her the boot. He should have said 'I don't like your hair', it would have been nearer the mark.

I think the point is valid though. She excelled when she called the shots. She would go into an organisation where, at first, she wouldn't be calling the shots and her track record in those scenarios was that she found herself in conflict.

In her defence though, more often than not she won regardless. I think she suffered because she was different and was more or less bullied.

Mind you, that's the way it is. The loopy cow would do my nut in.

Zok's defending Lucinda?

I thought he'd be wanking over Alex :D

I think I have to resign myself to the fact gob-shite is likely to win...

At this moment I think I don't want any of them to win (i.e. positive opinion of them)...I just don't want him to him (very negative opinion)

Heh, I never said I loved him don't forget, it just seemed obvious to me that he was the top candidate from the start, so I try to balance out the negativity from time to time.

I like to think I'm equally fair to all the candidates...they're all cunts.

But they go into a managerial position from the off, don't they?

You know, in the imaginary world where they actually work for Sir Alan, in an actual job. :D

I did also laugh at the "This is a permanent job".

The US one is "just" a year long contract, which might be extended.

I don't think any of the previous winners worked for SirA for more than a year did they? (Tim's run off to be a ventured capitalist I thought, Michelle was a slapper...Simon...I don't know)

What I liked about Lucinda was that her 'tough smile' face during the interviews made her look like a psycho. The bald geezer nearly lost it, she totally freaked him out.

That bit on 'You've Been Fired' with Claire and that twat who looks like a drunk was marvellous, as well. Great work by the beeb!

They were at it with the hatchets during that interview programme, some of the candidate befuddled pauses were clearly shoehorned in.

I was a bit suspicious about Alex's outburst towards Lucinda in the boardroom too, it seemed a bit apropos to nothing, and Sir Alan's 'who said that?' interjection after looked totally staged.

On watching the You're Fired show, Lucinda actually took a lot of shit that wasn't her fault. And shew as perfectly right, she'd tell people things and then they'd ignore her and when the fuck up happened they would go "You didn't say anything". There was a lack of respect. If she really, really wanted the job she could have argued that, and that she'd be in a leadership role. But she didn't.

I think they are probably right she wouldn't have fitted into the corporate culture there, but I do think she was more competent than some of the others. They are all bastards, and Alex is a toad, so I don'tb even think I care who gets it.

Oh dear god...Alex's speech next week looks awful...and then he's being passive aggressive with Helene...again.

I want to rip my own arm off, just so I have something to throw at him :D

Also...looking at the trailer next week...I think we can see who's aimed at for the You're Hired

Gob-shite!

Fucking hell.

I'm a red blooded flaming shirt lifter, but Lucinda was fuckig beautiful in some of those shots of her highlights (mainly boat/air balloon)

She looks gorgeous in the studio as well, with the flower in her hair. I may have a girl crush. :D

Also Michael McIntyre is being really funny. I hate him usually.

I think being an editor on the Apprentice would be my dream job.

If it paid massively more.

And I had any editing ability.

The editing annoyed me last night.

Pretty much all the interviews of Alex looked liked he was being immature, sullen and generally not doing well. Then, when the interviewers gave their feedback to Sir Alan, they were pretty much all positive, and said things that we never saw. It's understandable that the programme makers want to keep viewers on their toes, but when we don't actually get to see important events and that are then talked about, it's going too far.

Pretty obvious Sugars split his two favourites apart for this (Claire and Alex). The only clever aspect to it is leaving dead candidates Lee and Helene as their partners to test if they both resort to their normal trick which could loose them the task and thus see them out, which is to set up another for a fall. If they risk setting up the other for a fall they risk loosing the task and they are gone.

Strangely enough for all the Alex is great stuff (obviously sidekick Nicks favourite) didn't he just bumble through the interview in the same manner that saw Paul from series 2 get the boot at that point? In other words compared to my mates I'm doing well.

Still a poor final four, but the last task should be a joy to watch just to see how many idiots they select to team up with!

Help me out here... why do I hate Claire so much?

It's something about her voice that really grates with me. Maybe the way she stresses certain parts of words, or speaks in short bursts of a sentence at a time. Whatever it is, I'm honestly struggling not to hit the mute button when she's on - it's almost like nails on a chalkboard. I've tried to explain or emulate it others but I fail, I've never heard anyone talk like her before.

Apart from that, looks set to be a pretty weak final. Alex needs to STFU about his age already.

Good point. When he was asked to name what made him different or a strength of his (or something like that) he kept saying he was 24.

Reminded me of those old ladies on the bus who start talking to you and randomly tell you their age. "I'm 82 you know?!"

Help me out here... why do I hate Claire so much?

Maybe it's the way she talks like everything is a questioooon? Lots of Australians seem to do it? You must have noticed it? Does my head in?

Tim worked for Sir Alan for two years before leaving to start his own company and mentor young black business people. And he was "nice". So nice guys do win.

Very interesting twist, Lucinda had to go.

Alex didn't come alive in the interviews, which nearly cost him.

Where did Helene's swearing come from all of a sudden? Either it was a deliberate tactic to appear "gutsy", or she's just spent too much time with Lee.

Mr McQueen is a prat, lying on his CV, should have been fired

Claire scraped through despite wearing such a hideous green top
